Fbcs Calls For Nullification Of Sug Election Due To Gross Misconduct by TPIupdate: 6:35am On Sep 08, 2021
The Faculty of Business and Communication Studies has called for the nullification of the just concluded Student Union Government (SUG) Election due to gross misconduct and rigging of electoral process.

The Faculty further petition The Polytechnic, Ibadan Rector, Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi and The Dean, Student's Affairs, Dr. Sikiru Ajibola for a failed Electronic Voting system and allegedly accused them of working in favor of a party.

The reason for the call for nullification are:

1. The total number of vote doesn't justify who is qualified to win the election. The total number of accredited voters are over 19,000, registered voters are 5,376 and total number of vote casted doesn't take half talkless of 2/3 of the registered voters.

2. Students Are Disenfranchised - Students were deprived of their voting right due to incoherent student data. The voting submission requirement which is the Year of Birth doesn't tally with student biodata as substantial number of students complained.

3. Failed Voting Website - The institution refuse to learn from the last election, the server of the website used for voting is nothing to write home about. FBCS Students reportedly opt out from voting as some couldn't vote after 3 - 4 hours of trying.

The Faculty, then call on the Oyo State Government, School Management, and other concerned authorities to support FBCS in fighting against the injustice which was the order of the day during the electioneering process.

Failure to check into the imbalances and misconduct of this Election may compel the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies to pull out of the Institution's Student Union Government.
