On Saturday, Hope Uzodimma hinted that President Muhammadu Buhari would be present in the Imo state on Thursday, September 9, 2021. According to Imo Governor, he stated that President Buhari’s visit to Imo is to commission some of the projects which he has completed. Meanwhile, IPOB allegedly gave a direct order to Imo residents ahead for Buhari’s visit.

It was allegedly reported that IPOB directed members of the Imo community to remain indoor on Thursday ahead of President Buhari’s visit. In a response to IPOB’ s order, Hope Uzodimma stated that he is not bothered about the order of the group because he does not recognize them as an important agency or organization in the state. Furthermore, Ohanaeze Ndigbo sent a direct message to Imo residents in response to the order allegedly given to the people by IPOB.

Also, Comrade Deji Adeyanju released some statements saying that Imo residents had no reason to welcome President Buhari to the state. Despite the word exchange and reactions from different quarters, President Buhari landed in Imo state on Thursday, September 9, 2021. During his visit, he inspected some parts of the state and promised to help the Imo state Governor to develop Imo state.

President Buhari in his address told Governor Uzodimma that he would use his office, as president to provide for Imo state and make sure it becomes secure and safe for the people to live. This statement was made by President Buhari after Imo governor expressed displease at the recent cases of attacks in the state as well as the activities of IPOB.

While it is not clear if Imo residents obeyed IPOB order, a Nigerian activist took to his media page to mock President Buhari due to the belief that many residents were not present at the event to cheer the president and welcome him to Imo state. In his reaction to the few crowd that graced the occasion, Deji Adeyanju said ” Imo people are wicked. LOL! It was supposed to be a Sit- At- Home but they turned it to Lockdown. Buhari completely disgraced. “
