Shocking to hear that a 48 year old man Identified to be Mark Onuoha, on Friday appeared before the Ikorodu Magistrates' Court in Lagos state as he allegedly bits off the ear of a woman.

Mark Onuoha was charged to court for assaulting and causing grievous bodily harm.

As reported by The News agencies of Nigeria (NAN), surprisingly, Onuoha pleaded not guilty.

Insp Christina Okonofua, the prosecutor narrated how that Onuoha committed the offence August 31 at Itowolo, Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

Okonofua said that Onuoha assaulted Mrs Rebecca Amosun as he beats her up and bits off her left ear.

The offences contravenes Sections 245 and 173 of the criminal law of lagos state, 2015.

NAN reports that the section 173 provides for on year jail term for the assault.

The magistrate, Mrs T.A Shotobi however granted Onuoha bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mrs Shotobi adjourned the case till September 12.
