Yea,you read that right.
"Penaldo" ,that sounds so familiar,right ?
Some football fans ,but definitely the most loud football fans, have made it a habit to discredit anything good that Cristiano Ronaldo does, especially when it comes to goals.
Recently,the living legend and arguably the greatest football the round leather game have even seem reached another milestone last week by breaking the record for highest goals scored by a male football player in the international stage,and went further by adding one more goal to his tally,making it 111 goals in 180 international caps.
But as expect,the some group of persons keep discrediting this achievement,not only with the "Andorra and Estonia banter" ,but also claiming most of his goals where penalties.

Is that really true ?
Let's take a look at it with stats.
Ronaldo have made 180 international appearances, 111 goals ,with 14 of those goal coming from the penalty spot.
Actually, Ronaldo have gotten 21 penalty kick opportunities at international stage,and scored only 14 of them.
So basically,14*100/111=1.26% of Ronaldo's goals at the international stage is from the spot kick.

Now,back to Messi.
Messi have made 153 international appearances,scored 79 goals,with 18 of them coming from Penalty kick.
Messi have actually gotten 22 penalty kick opportunities at international stage,and converted 18 of them.
Basically,18*100/79= 22.8% of Messi's goals at international stage is from the penalty kick.

After reading this, don't you think Ronaldo actually deserves more respect than the usual stall "penaldo" jab for his goal exploits at the international stage ?

Messi might have more international penalties than Penaldo but the main reason CR7 is called Penaldo is because of the way he dives and cries for penalties.

Its too obvious and embarrassing and even pathetic at times. Watch Messi and see the way he hardly dives and even gifts penalties to his teammates..it just gives pure joy to any football fan that truly enjoys the game.

the name penaldo is because of the way he do cry n take penalties so serious...cr7 hadly gv penalties to his team mate n he do dive to win soft penalties n endup crying n complaining if the ref wave it off

Barcelona vs PSG Messi gave penalty for Neymar to play after scoring the first kick and the game ended 6-1 in favour of Barca.. in the history of football Messi is the only one who has passed a penalty spot kick.. make i see Ronaldo pass am weda war nor go happen for pitch

Every single player shows emotion when they feel there was contact on them and a penalty is not given,every single one of them .
Even if it's a soft contact,everyone of them protest ,even with their team players on the field,including the coaching staffs in the stand.
Why is Ronaldo's same show of emotion embarrassing and disgusting ? Because you don't like him,right ?
Messi have protested many times when he feel there was a contact on him,which should be reward will a penalty call,but you all turn your blind eyes,and pretend that don't happen.

Messi have gotten 129 penalty opportunities so far in his career and converted 100 of them.
Ronaldo have gotten 167 penalty opportunities in his career and converted 139 of them.
That's to say,out of Messi's total goals,100 are from the penalty spots, compared to Ronaldo's 139 .
You all pretend like Messi is not guilty of penalty goals and don't show emotions when he's being denied a penalty kick.

What I'm saying in essence is that Messi is also guilty of having more than 99 goals in his careers that are from the penalty spot,and protest when he's been denied a penalty he felt he deserves.

When you all shout "penaldo",an observer will even think Ronaldo have more than 300 penalty goals out of his total career goals,and will think Messi don't even have up to 60 penalty goals out of his total career goals.
