A group, the United Action for Democracy has cautioned President Goodluck Jonathan on his reception and attitude towards the recurring moves of the United States for a military base in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea.

The UAD in a statement by its national convener, Comrade Taiwo Otitolaye, said that the United States is only interested in global domination and Nigeria as a country should not compromise her sovereignty.

The group said, “We are not unwary that Mr. President is under pressure to accede to the U.S’ lustful aspirations for a military base in our country. The UAD and its allies were at the fore front to challenge similar moves under the Obasanjo era few years ago.

“Our interest as a country cannot be subsumed into the U.S narrow interest for global domination. For all intents and purposes, Nigeria's territorial integrity, sovereignty and development cannot and must not be compromised.”


The UAD warned that any attempt by the government to concede to the US’ wish will be met by stiff opposition which will lead to unending mass protests across the country.

“We do not need a U.S military base in Nigeria and any attempt to foist such on Nigeria would amount to stepping on cobra's tail.

“The gains of the April 2011 general elections must not be eroded because, any attempt to accept diabolical overtures of the U.S for a military base, the UAD and other focused political movements will lead unending mass protest across the country.

“The way forward for Nigeria at this juncture is a restructured State. Devolution of powers, fiscal federalism and a people’s constitution are key features of true federalism,” the group added.

hmmm you obviously havent researched russia and china too well. all the fights of liberation involving africans and blackpeople all over the world from south african apartheid to the african american struggle from oppresion and brutality, who do you think has been the secret ally of black people in all those struggles, supplying weaponry and moneys and support and secret training ? the russians and the chinese, and who do you think has been the enemy ? yeah you work that one out. paul robeson was a national hero in russia when blacks were still considered sub-human in america. the russians helped him in any way possible to end the oppression of his people in america. anytime paul robeson (a black man ) entered russia, it was declared a bank holiday. this was when black man was considered an ape in the west.

Citing a US base in Nigeria is like opening your house for snakes to move in.

We stand to gain nothing from the move and the US stands to gain loads from the move. GEJ should understand the complexities of Nigeria and we do not need any outside meddling in our affairs at this point in time. The US perefers a disintegrated Nigeria so they can concentrate on the ND where the oil lies and the rest of Nigeria can go to hell for all they care.

i believe the u.s are after crude oil, but china- china i fear who nor fear that country, they would support anyone the u.s is against and against anyone the u.s is with, some say china gives out loans to countries but hey,lets be realistic here china isn't even a developed country yet and they do have problem (1) their population and becoming very demanding(energy wise) their real objective remains their own big open secret, i'm not trying to make this thread a U.S vs CHINA one, but my instincts say china no no not our near friend either, thanks peeps

I can't stop laughing. Go to Russia and see if they don't chop your balls off and stick you in a cage for being a 'black animal' (In public!). Russians (like the Japanese, Indians, and Arabs) are some of the most racist people on the planet.

The Chinese like the Americans are in it for the money and don't care about you or I.
