Job Title: Deputy Managing Director

Job Location: Lagos

Our client, an industry leader in personal development and grooming is looking for an experienced Deputy Managing Director (DMD) to oversee business operations and provide strategic leadership. The DMD will also be responsible for engineering core organizational change to regain the industry leadership position we were. The DMD should have very strong people skills, be a seasoned and experienced sales leader with a strong track record. In this role, your responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategic plans and company policies, maintaining an open dialogue with stakeholders, and driving organizational success.


Responsibilities:

1. Assist in developing and executing the company’s business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals of the board and shareholders.

2. Reporting to the board, providing market insights and strategic advice.

3. Developing and implementing business plans to improve cost-efficiency.

4. Oversee the various companies in the group of companies and provide strategic leadership to all.

5. Should plan and execute effective human resources management. This includes organizational redesign, recruitment of A-players, and cultivating an excellent organizational culture.

6. Maintaining positive and trust-based relations with business partners, shareholders, and authorities.

7. Collaborate in overseeing the company's business operations, financial performance, investments, and ventures.

8. Supervising, guiding, and delegating executives in their duties.

9. Ensuring company policies and legal guidelines are clearly communicated.

10. Assessing, managing, and resolving problematic developments and situations.

11. Building and enhancing the company's public profile at events, speaking engagements, etc.

12. Oversee the company’s foundation and provide strategic leadership for the foundation to be positioned for more awards of both local and international grants.

Requirements:

1. Prior experience as a Deputy Managing Director or in a Senior Manager role.

2. Proven track record of sales experience.

3. Experience in developing and implementing strategic and business plans.

4. Strong people skills

5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

6. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

7. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

8. Good corporate finance understanding

9. MBA is preferred.
