This right here is why I don't take any of Ohaneze, majority South East politicians and 'activists' serious. Forget all the noise about opposition to Osinbajo or Tinubu vying for the presidency. If these individuals finally indicate interest at running for president all the SW groups will fall into line. Even Afenifere will give tacit support or at worst limp resistance to any major SW candidate that is running.

For a region that understandably always clamors for the presidency you would think they would seriously lobby the PDP to field a candidate of SE origin between Peter Obi, Ezekwesili or any body else that takes their fancy but no.

seunmsg:

What do you mean by "a fellow Southerner try to play smart against other southern regions"? Is the SW stopping anybody from the south from contesting? What's with all these silly blackmail of the south west?

PDP is very strong in the SE&SS and APC is very strong in the SW. So, why can't the SE push for the presidential ticket of PDP and SW push for the presidential ticket of APC? Are you not aware of the general hatred for APC in the SE? If you are a leader in APC, will you advocate that the ticket of your party be zoned to a region that barely gave 5% of their votes to the party in the last two general elections?

And talking about equity and justice, is it fair for the SE to be clamoring for the SW not to contest for APC presidential ticket when they know the SE stands absolutely no chance of winning the party's ticket? If the SW refuse to vie for APC ticket, is there any other region in the south that can get the ticket from the north? Why can't we all come together and push for PDP to present Peter Obi and APC presents Osinbajo? At the end of the day, we will have an all southern contest. Is that not a better way to go about it?

SE have no serious contenders in PDP and APC as at today and still, you guys are all over the internet blackmailing the SW not to contest. How is that fair and just to you? Explain and make it make sense.

I just laugh at comments here. Before the unknown gunmen and ESN era in the South East, the first statement from the South East is that they prefer death to Tinubu becoming President. Yorubas in Yoruba World Congress are not after Tinubu's Presidency but only interested in Oduduwa Republic.

When it became clear that the North can only vote for a Southern candidate they trust and they cannot be forced to vote for somebody they don't know too well, it became clear that requirement can only be met by somebody with long brotherhood relationship with North.

The issue of VAT and Umahi hosting Buratai, FUTO awarding professorship to Patanmi and other noise making don't amount to anything as far as Presidency is concerned to the North. I wish the South East well. Severally, I have written on the need to have the Presidency zoned to South East but I was opposed. They said all candidates from the South should make themselves available to the North for a choice to be made as it happens in 1999 PDP primary between Obasanjo and Ekwueme.

Nigeria needs to be divided into North & South, or at least regionalised. Our leaders & elite politicians know this but they are silent because they are selfishly benefiting from the false Union. But I'm 100% sure the status quo won't remain for too long.

I'm glad no southern APC politician is vying for APC chairmanship position.
Let's see if the north will take both chairmanship and presidential slotcheesy

As for pdp that still want to zone power back to north, they wil recieve the greatest shock of their lives.

The country is tensed and polarized. 2023 is no longer Apc vs pdp issue. It has become south vs core north while middlebelt lean towards south.
Southern politicans have close rank thats why lagos and Rivers re leading the showdown against FG.

Besides Adamu is a nonentity in Apc like yahaya bello, their popularity starts and End in their constituency
If PDP give their ticket to a northerner then trust me, power will remain in the north.
I don't see the south doing much to unite against that. PDP already knows that's what they need to get power from APC. Trust me, if they do, notable northerners in APC will move to PDP.

Stop crying and lamenting, the presidency is coming to the South, the South East that has not taken their rightful turn in Aso rock since the advent of democracy in 1999 will have it, we cannot have it go to the SW who have ruled for 8 years as President and another 8 years as VP.

If it comes south, it is NOT your turn, and if you cannot allow others in the south to take their rightful turn, I as a Pro-Biafran and so many other southerners WILL PREFER TO VOTE A CAMEL from the core north in protest against your yoruba greed.

You cannot be fighting injustice by enthroning another form of injustice. If you are arguing for fairness and equity, then the South East has the strongest case but then if you decide otherwise then the north can keep it since they have the highest voters on paper. You cannot approbate only when it suit you and reprobate when it doesn't, on the same matter.

USA is a very divided place too but they prioritize the pursuit of progress and development above everything.

The guy you responded to put things very intelligently and in perspective. Nigeria is indeed a scam and we are a "mere geographical expression" of people , as Awolowo declared, who will never have the individual requisite love and patriotism for Nigeria to want to do right by her.

We are all more devoted to our ethnic identity and domain.

The smartest thing to do, and the only way forward, is for all Nigerians to accept this so we put systems in place that will stimulate regional/State growth and competitiveness as a way forward rather than what obtains today where we are all just marking time and drawing each other back.

Brilliant stuff. We are only postponing the evil days continuing to persevere with all the deleterious aspects of "one Nigeria", such as a central police force and an overpowerful federal government, that can only ever deliver regression or, at best, retention of the horrible status quo we are witnessing today.

Some Nigerian leaders in the South are now aware of this. This is why SW Governors are bullish in pushing forward with open grazing ban, demand for restructuring, insistence on State policing etal even after countless threat from Northerners that the SW will not produce the Presidency if it continues to move against the interest of the North in the South.

Bottom line is that more and more Nigerians are becoming fed up with a horrible system where we know the right thing to be done but continue letting a few selfish folks get their ways with regressive and oppressive policies and actions that is keeping us all, to include those who don't deserve to be there, in the mud.

At the end of the day, Aboki that used 2 as cut off mark for admission will become permanent Secretary while the brighter student from the South will end up as a subordinate to Aboki.

Not arguing for it. I am telling you it is going to happen under APC 100% because of what was agreed ate the inception of APC that saw the SW devote all in it's power to make the "unelectable" Buhari President. What PDP does or does not do for it loyal Igbo servants is not the concern of most Yorubas.

Power is rotating between North and south in the APC. Igbos should turn up and compete for the ticket with the SW and SS. No one is stopping them and the North will not fight for Igbo because their view is that the APC ticket is zoned to the South and micro-zoning to specific region of the South is not their concern.

Similar to if the APC ticket is zoned to the North. Southerners will stay away because it is not their business to insist on the specific region of the North it must go to.

All that Southern voting delegates can do would be to show up and vote at the Party primaries for Northerners of their choice who bother to show up and fight.

You must remember that all Northerners who competed for the APC ticket against Buhari in 2014 were not from his specific zone yet they were never prevented from partaking in the APC primaries.

Igbos should fight or shut up. Enough of una cowardly blackmail you think will help you reap where you blatantly refused to sow.

The North is far bigger in land mass & population than the South.
It has the highest number of states & local governments.
The North has some of the most powerful governors, senators, federal appointees, politicians both serving & retired in Nigeria.
The North also has the richest men & biggest captains of industry in Nigeria.
It has the highest number of military Generals both serving & retired.
The North equally has its fair share of reknown & accomplished academics in Nigeria & abroad in foreign universities.
It has reknown religious scholars & fiery clerics as well as its fair share of unrepentant religious fundamentalists, radicals, hoodlums, criminals & terrorists.
Inspite of all these, watch that whatever positions are zoned to them come 2023, they will choose, present & support their candidate seamlessly with less or no friction, rancour, dirty fight in public or the pages of newspapers & without assassinating each other. They understand politics & leadership. It's no coincidence therefore, that they have what they have. Islam is what regulates them and make them peaceful and never care to address the dirty lies, slander and insults from southerners online.
But you see this presidency of Nigeria Southerners are threatening everybody that they must have come 2023;
this 2023 presidency useless Southern governors & politicians are galivanting up & down insisting they must have -- governors & politicians whose only idea of governance is to issue press statements every month on Fulani herdsmen, cattle grazing & 2023 presidency to distract their gullible state citizens from the resources & allocations of their states they have stolen with nothing to show for it;
you will see how these Southern governors & greedy power drunk Southern politicians will kill & destroy each other just to pick & present one presidential candidate.
Watch how they will burn down the South with insecurity on the eve of 2023 as all these militias, unknown gunmen, Amotekun, Ebube Agu, ESN, OPC, Cult gangs, the various states police & vigilantes in the South will get new sponsors in these Southern governors & politicians as well as new sophisticated weapons from them as they jostle to eliminate each other & weaken the political base of their opponents to be able to pick the presidential ticket for themselves.
The sad shame however is that after destroying themselves, The Southern homeland, wasting the resources of Southern states & the lives of Southern misguided youths just to pick a presidential ticket, they will still turn back & blame the North for the destruction their unbridled greed for power for selfish ends brought on the South.
You see this Southern presidential agitations...
Well, enough said already!
North should hold on to power till 2050.
