I Left $20bn Domestic Excess Crude, $167bn Foreign Account by Nobody: 5:14pm On May 25, 2011
The out-going Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) and the Governor-elect of Gombe State, on Friday, said that he left in the treasury $20.6 billion in the domestic excess crude savings account, and $167.005 billion in the foreign account.
Also, in the Federation Account, he left N10.5 billion.

Similarly, he said that as at December 22, 2010, he left a balance of N460.2 billion capital account, while the total utilization is 58.33 per cent.“Salaries were paid in full and all other liabilities of government were settled, which were re-current in nature,” he said. Dankwambo gave the breakdown in Abuja, while handing over his note to the Acting Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Abiodun Ogunsanya.

The governor-elect regretted that the ceremony would have taken place on December 22, 2010 when he left office but some of the directors were not around. He said, however, that all the papers for the handing over were ready.

The outgoing AGF also said that he took over as the AGF in 2005 until December 2010 when he left office.
He observed that throughout his tenure, the issue of fraud and sharp practices were minimized and the staff were more dedicated and committed.

The Acting AGF, Mr Abiodun Ogunsanya thanked the outgoing AGF for creating time to honour the handover.
