Could anyone solve the following questions, please. Trying to help one my younger ones then found just these three questions below rather confusing (or maybe they're incorrect questions or answers).

Please, have a try if you can. Thanks

Solution:
Using Bodmas/Pomdas
We must start simplifying from the right.
2/3+2/4(1/1÷1/2)
2/3+2/4(1÷1/2)
2/3+2/4(1/2)
Still using Bodmas
2/3+2/4*1/2
2/3+1/4
You now find the LCD of the two fractions,No dey use calculator.
3,4
3×2×2×1=12
Still on
2/3+1/4 The LCD is 12
12÷3×2=8 + 12÷4×1=3
8+3/12

I appreciate you very much brother... Thanks for taking your time.

But for this no 3 above, step 2 of your working:
1 divided by half should be 2 not half (1÷1/2 = 2 not 1/2). I guess there's a problem with the question, since getting 2 won't agree along with the working to get any of the options a-e.

However, is it really acceptable in Maths to say: 1/1÷1/2= 1/2 (as in 1/1=1, so 1÷1÷2=1/2)? Doesn't seem right to me, even though it leads one of the options as the answer.

Please, any thoughts?

Thanks a lot.

So, if we plug in 2 instead of 1/2, we would get 5/3, which is not part of the options. I think there's a problem with the question itself (and even the others too, like typo or something. Like you added (=) to no 2 question, which makes it reasonable).

Thanks
