In this thread let us talk about the price of food products in your area and if other areas are cheap enough with transport you can buy from there.

Beans price on fire and food security

Price continues to rise while the report shows that inflation dip for the 5th month in a row, As August, show a 17.01% while food inflation is still at 20.3%.

AGRIC PRODUCE OVERVIEW

We have explained on this newsletter before that inflation figure is a continuum and even if it drops to 10% that is still a 10% increase from last month prices, as this increase continues and consumer is showing resistant to the rise, yet the supply of the product is not getting better as so birth this scenario.

First is food insecurity, it is not actually first because the paramount measurement is food sufficiency (which is the availability of food). But....

Is Beans on Free Fall

Harvest Abundant and Scarcity

Happy new month and independence, the economy has enjoy its roller coaster and here we are with some harvest getting ready for distribution.

Bean Price Plummet
The price of beans which continues to reach all time height have taking a turn around, first let us examine this bearish run and let us hope it last before festivity season demand catch up.

As forecasted the beans market as dip and this is expected to continue, as the previous height is just too extreme but still we can't be expecting a return to a 50kg bag for ₦14,000 as of early last year. As the supply chain has completely change and measuring an Agriculture produce cost and productivity is a denominated by the index of input cost, which has likewise change. And the figure are not lying about this as the core inflation index that represent energy and food continue to experience a....https://mailchi.mp/d32329134faa/beans-free-fall

October inflation rates ease even as core inflation still sits at 13.3%. What can we expect this festive season? click this link to share this newsletter with other

AGRIC PRODUCE OVERVIEW

Let us jump right into it, but first some context to where we are coming from as regards inflation. Inflation could have been dropping, but we need not explain that if this rate is not 0. It means there is an increment from previous more, only not as high as last month. Check our previous newsletter if interested in that.

The benchmark ceiling by the apex bank for inflation is 9% in which for over 6 yrs, as an economy we are yet to enter within that bracket range. Inflation means an increase in price and the reason for our concern. The festive season is now far approaching, demand goes up. more corporate demand, we hope the inflation rate remain can continue to drop and more likely while interest rate might be prepared for this.

Should the 10 months drop now bring more relief, yes and no first the yes? If......October inflation rates ease even as core inflation still sits at 13.3%. What can we expect this festive season? click this link to share this newsletter with other

December month of foodie

The season of demand

December is finally here a month of more demand on income and more expense on food, hope you are preparing

AGRIC PRODUCE OVERVIEW

Before entering into the short intro, CBN MPC outcome was held last week which is the last for the year and the MPR was retained. No need to be disturbed with the exact meaning of this. Just don’t forget the word “retained”. I hope price and household expenses will be retained as we enter the yuletide.

No time of the year has a surge of food, events, party, charity and every other thing responsible for increasing demand. And with increase demand both real and perceived comes with a price increase. It is hence a good time to effectively plan to spend even as food takes over 50% of household income in Nigeria against recommended 10-15%

Historically inflation in Nigeria has often increased at the end of the year, and this is not too far fetch, though this season is also cushioned with some harvest. Last year experience an increase in 0.89% just in this month few its previous month this is very high and poor harvest must have contributed to it, but increase inflation is not strange in this month as 2019: 0.13%, 2018: 0.16%, 2017: -0.53%, 2016: 0.07%, 2015: 0.18%. And as we have previous say in our last that inflation is down for the 10th month. What consumer price index could be the year? As only 1 in 7 years as it dropped in December.

Festive Rush

The bulk purchase strategies have served in reducing more supply chain touches and reducing cost

AGRIC PRODUCE OVERVIEW

Many have can’t play the season and stock product, but also not being able to take advantage of the bulk purchase can make the overall cost of food expense more expensive.

The solution to this is simple, the first brief about what we do. We are an Agric eCommerce platform and we sell and deliver Agric/Food products in big basket size (this big basket is relative to everyone to some it is tons. But basically we mean a unit product on our platform, with checkout permission of 0.5/half and 0.25/quarter)

With that out of the way, let us then go to the solution of getting food products cheaper at all seasons. It is to form a partnership, especially as an individual that doesn’t fall into the bracket described above. Easy for retailers right, Yes but as individual consumers, we can also partner with a friend, colleague, or neighbor to collectively stay a step above the supply chain saving some cost.

Product update;

The price of Oloyin Beans fluctuated down and back to retain its old price of......https://mailchi.mp/91350952d436/product-strategy

Rice hike, what is the alternative

The cost of the most consumed short grain imported rice just goes 10% up in a week

This week Tuesday is international “Thank you” day. I would like to use this medium to say thank you for having you here, as we send out the first update for the year.

Let us jump into it. What is responsible for the increase in rice? To start with, the cost of long grain foreign rice has gotten lower Click here
