A healthy and active lifestyle demands physical fitness and longevity. Investing in your health should be a top priority for you, along with other things.

People are focused on other things like gaining money and achieving other material objectives at the expense of their own life. The truth is that if you disregard your health, no amount of money would be able to make you whole again.

It goes without saying that having a six-figure financial account is preferable to being in great shape. One of the best investments you can make is in your health. Here are some reasons why:

1. Good health can help you save money on healthcare:

Because of such constraints in your movements and behaviours, poor health might make you unproductive and depressed. Furthermore, long-term treatment can deplete all of your resources and possessions. Nowadays, healthcare costs such as medicine, doctor’s visits, and hospitalization are so high that the average person would think twice about using the services.

A terrible financial downfall as a result of healthcare expenditures is even terrifying than the disease itself. If you want to lower your risk factors for various ailments, improve your health, and live a healthier lifestyle, there are some simple lifestyle changes you can make.

2. A long and healthy life gives you more time to spend with your loved ones:

When you take good care of yourself, you will see the rewards in your long-term health. Simply put, you’ll have more time to spend with your loved ones. Remember your family and make sure they have the resources they need to stay healthy. Sitting on your bespoke sofas, make sure you aren’t spending too much time on your phone instead of talking to one another.

When your health declines, you will become a financial and emotional burden to your family. Without your presence, your loved ones won’t have somebody to lean on. The answer is no, you cannot. So, if you care about your lovely family, it’s in your best interest to look after yourself.

3. A healthy way of life can help to avoid sickness:

Nowadays, lifestyle factors are more likely to cause disease than genetic factors. In other words, what you eat, drink, and other bad habits you have now can affect your health in the future. A balanced diet and an active lifestyle can help prevent many diseases, regardless of the underlying cause. Investing in your health now will help you battle and prevent problems in the future.

Spend less time lying on your solid wood platform bed and more time eating healthy fuel and getting 15/30minutes of exercise each day. Keep in mind that being consistent pays off in the long run.

You are literally buying illness when you buy processed foods. Instead of putting off starting a healthy diet until later, start eating well today and avoid having to take medication later.

4. The ability to perform well at work might be boosted by good health:

Health and productivity go hand in hand. Physically healthy employees are always preferred by employers over those who aren’t. Employing healthy individuals has the apparent benefit of reducing staff absences and sick leave.

However, if you stay in excellent health and have a positive outlook, you will be a valuable asset to the organization. Workers who are healthy are more likely to stay in their jobs, recover from illness more quickly, and have fewer long-term health problems.

5. When you’re sick, your life might be awful:

A person’s quality of life suffers when they are in bad health. Consider someone who has been suffering from a stroke for a long time. If you’re in a hospital bed or a wheelchair, you’re bound to be cranky, depressed, and despairing. When you’re sick, it’s impossible to enjoy even the simplest of activities such as vacation. You’ve got nothing to show for your wealth; your mansion, BMW, and private pool with jacuzzi are all a waste of time.

People who are ill spend much of their time whining about the mental and physical anguish they are experiencing because their enthusiasm for life has been sapped. People who are confined to their sick beds are unable to appreciate the little things in life. As a result, you must look after your health as soon as possible.

Health and fitness for Nigerians is like the goal post which Christians always shift to make Heaven. The same way they are quick to put down one’s claim of being holy enough to enter Heaven is how they’ll always claim exercise is unneeded for a healthy life. They’ll give many excuses like “na person wey chop belleful dey enter gym,” “muscle no be by force,” “fitness no go stop you from hospital if accident happen,” “why you dey spoil body, na?” The list goes on. Nowadays I shut my mouth regarding any form of fitness and do my thing by five in the early morning to seven. Before they wake up I’m long done. I am also quick to respond in the negative when people ask “you dey gym?” I tell them I was genetically gifted.

This is indeed a beautiful piece. angry

You see so many people chasing money and neglect their health. Money they don't have and their health still very shitty. I am a very strong advocate of preventive medicine. I believe a healthy lifestyle is very key in combating diseases. By God's grace I have not been to a hospital for treatment in more than 2 decades except when I want to donate blood. angry

And I am in the best health of my life yet. angry

You should still perform yearly checkups. Many people have underlying problems which are unknown until too late.
