Institute of Architects pledges to support Kenpoly

The Rivers State branch of Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) has promised to provide necessary assistance to support the development and growth of the Department of Architecture of the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori.

The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of NIA, Arc. Toku Fiberesima, made the promise when he led a delegation of the executive committee of the Rivers State branch of the insitiute on a visit to the Architecture Department and the Rector of the polytechnic.

Arc. Fiberesima urged the department to involve the institute in the panel for the assessment of graduating students of the department to ensure that graduating students meet the standards required of architects.

During an interactive session, the NIA Chairman advised students of the Department to familiarize themselves with the processes required of them to be registered after graduation as architects.

While expressing gratitude to the NIA for the visit, the students appealed for the elimination of the disparity between architecture graduates of polytechnics and architecture graduates of universities.

The NIA executives in company with the Head of Architecture Department, Arc. D.S. Tobi, also paid a courtesy call on the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Ledum Suanu Gwara.
