Covid-19 Test Centers In Nigeria. by Surjen: 10:03am On Sep 27, 2021
In the past, the Federal Government of Nigeria temporarily discontinued Covid-19 testing through government-owned labs and hospitals. Privately owned labs and hospitals were mandated to conduct the tests. These labs were scrutinized and approved by NCDC. Surjen partnered with those private labs to make Covid-19 testing more accessible and comforting for person (s) who might need such. Regardless of the NCDC-accredited labs and hospitals, we have partnered with, there are other labs in Abuja, Lagos, and across Nigeria that are mandated to conduct the Covid-19 testing for those who need it. Some have different turnaround times as for when the test result should be out. Surjen in partnership with the accredited labs has a fixed turnaround time of 24 hours.

The type of Covid-19 test done is the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.

The Covid-19 test is required for anyone that has been exposed recently to a person infected by the Covid or has noticed symptoms related to the disease. A group of people is under an obligation to conduct said test whether being exposed to an infected person or having noticed symptoms. This group of people are travelers (inbound and outbound travelers).

The need for travelers to get tested is as a result to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. To this effect, the integrity, and validity of the test come into question at all times. Regarding integrity, it is advisable to visit the NCDC website for a list of approved private labs and hospitals. Following the validity of the test results, you need to visit the website of the airline to be used and the immigration web page of the intended country of travel. Surjen offers advice on when to conduct the test as required to maintain test validity when arriving at the country of destination. Surjen also offers a complimentary collection of Covid-19 samples. You do need to visit the lab to get the test done or receive results. All is taken care of from the comfort of where you are. This feature is only for travelers within Abuja, Lagos, and Kano environs.
