Oil Wells: Gov Uzodimma expresses confidence, says Imo’ll get justice
September 27, 2021

.Imo Oil Wells

The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has expressed confidence that “Imo State will eventually get justice at the Supreme Court and get back what belongs to her”. He added that the State will also be receiving an additional N8 billion monthly from Federal Allocation.

The Governor during the Thanksgiving Church Service in commemoration of Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day Celebration at the Government House Chapel, Owerri, disclosed this as he explained the position of the State on the oil wells located in Imo State that were ceded to Rivers State for over 20 years now.

He stated that though the Committee on Boundary Adjustment through boundary demarcation had given back the oil wells to Imo State, the Rivers State Government had taken the matter to the Supreme Court, all in an effort to continue to deny Imo State what belongs to her.

In strong disapproval, Governor Uzodimma disclosed that despite the fact that some of the disputed oil wells are located in Local Government Areas like Ejemekwuru in Oguta LGA, Imo State, some selfish Imo indigenes, benefiting from the scam, are working against this recovery process. The Governor, therefore, expressed confidence that Imo State will get justice.

If that will be the only achievement as a governor, I will be grateful to him as an indigene

If he achieve this fate. All his sins can be forgiven.

Wike will pay the hard way for pointing his finger at Buhari's face.

The boundaries of Rivers State if full of scam and fraud, imagine some communities that should be in ogbaru (greater onistha metro) was added in to river, same goes for etche (one part in Rivers another part in IMO state)
Are we going to talk about ASA/Ndoki communities that should rightfully belong to Abia shared between Abia and Rivers,
All becos of oil (and becos easterners loss they war)
The IMO river was used as a boundary btw IMO,Abia and Rivers whenever it favours Rivers State, and the same IMO river is ignored when it doesn't favour Rivers State,

So how can I explain to a sane person that ndoni 5 kilometers from onistha industrial estate town ogbaru, shares the same state with someone from far away Bonny, or how do I say that someone, ebocha near owerri has Port Harcourt as his state capital,
They worst part is that when traveling from some rural part of Rivers to another you might almost get to owerri (like entering IMO because of bad roads) before existing it only to enter Rivers again just to get to your destination,

River state itself is a scam, the war really took many things away from us, God will surely see us through this gang-up, for 20 good years, Rivers State have been cornering our God given resources, can you imagine that?

Wike is pained the oil wells were ceded to Imo state by the Committee on Boundary Adjustment controlled by the federal government this is the reason why he's trying to pay back Buhari using the VAT collection by states.

If after all your asslicking and slavery, you fail to get back those oil wells then ogwugwu and ala Ogbagha will do the needful on you.

Those oil wells rightfully belongs to Imo State so make sure you get it back. Even Wike is fighting them without fear while you turned yourself to a slave, this should be an open and shut case!

This is the time igbos need to come together to support hope uzondinma and Buhari.
Why? We can use Buhari to get back our lands and oil wells that were illegally ceded to Rivers state.
Let's unite with the federal govt against wike as a way of getting our own pound of flesh. Afterall, wike supervised over the killings of Oyingbo people under the guise of fighting ipob.
I support the boycott of the southern governors meeting by eastern governors because, if Yorubas truly believe in equity and justice they would be pushing for the support of Igbos presidency but are stylishly rooting for Tinubu. Have you ever asked yourselves this; the same wike attending the southern governors meeting is also surreptitiously pushing for Atiku's presidency in order to become his vice. This is the reason why he's fighting hard to have Secondus removed from office.
Igbos, we need to shine our eyes and also play the politics of self interest as events unfound.

I agree with you.

There is a very high chance that the Nigeria Supreme court would throw out the case brought by Rivers State against Imo State by God Grace.

The Supreme Court have consistently held that the Federal High Court have and exercise exclusive jurisdiction in civil causes and matters that affects the Federal Government of Nigeria or any of its agencies and relating to the validity of any administrative or executive actions or decisions. The administration or the management and control of the federal government or any of its agencies.

Federal High Court’s Jurisdiction and matters involving Federal Government or its agencies

The relevant statute in determining the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court to entertain disputes involving the Federal Government or any of its agencies is the 1999 Constitution and for clarity the relevant section of the constitution will be highlighted. Section 251 (1) provides thus:

“Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Constitution and in addition to such other jurisdiction as may be conferred upon it by an Act of the National Assembly, the Federal High Court shall have and exercise jurisdiction to the exclusion of any other court in civil causes and matters –

(p) the administration or the management and control of the Federal Government or any of its agencies;

(q) subject to the provision of this constitution, the operation and interpretation of this constitution in so far as it affects the Federal government or any of its agencies;

(q) any action or proceeding for a declaration or injunction affecting the validity of any executive or administrative action or decision by the Federal Government or any of its agencies.

Provided that nothing in the provision of paragraph (p), (q) and (r) of this subsections shall prevent a person from seeking redress against the Federal Government or any of its agencies in an action for damages, injunction or specific performance where the action is based on any enactment, law or equity”
