Anthony Joshua Biography 2021 by naijagenre(m): 2:21pm On Sep 28, 2021
Anthony Joshua is a two-time heavyweight champion and a professional boxer. Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is his full name, and he was born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, Hertfordshire, to Yeta and Robert Joshua. His mother is from Nigeria, while his father is from Nigeria with Irish ancestors.

Early Life
Anthony Joshua went to Ikenne’s Mayflower School, but when his parents split, he moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 12. After moving to the United Kingdom, he attended Kings Langley Secondary School in Hertfordshire, where he grew up in the Meriden Estate. He excelled in football and athletics while at school in the United Kingdom, breaking the school’s Year 9 100m record in 11.6 seconds.

Career
He began boxing when he was 18 years old, after his cousin pushed him to do so. Anthony Joshua won the Haringey Box Cup in 2009 and 2010. He also won the ABA championships in his 18th bout in 2010, and he rejected down a professional contract offer of 50,000 Pounds. He later admitted that he turned down the money because he wanted to win medals rather than make money. He won the ABA championships again in 2011, but before that, in 2010, he had secured a spot on the GB boxing team and, in the same year, he defeated Amin Isa to become the British Amateur Champion at the GB Championships.
