With your wheel-barrow of course.

Niger Delta don't need that rail line for niw. We understand the yourubas game plan - to have reason not to develop a formidable and working deep sea port in that region.

1% of the funds proposed for that project can turn around port harcourt and calabar sea ports.

These people are strategically planning to make Lagos the starting point to every Nigerian economies.

Let every region have its own economic base and reliance. We can not always depend on Lagos. I dont support this project.

The same reasons why Lagos is over populated. Economic prosperous should not be dependent on any state or region.

Niger Delta should resist it and opt for two working deep sea port in that region and you will see the over dependence on Lagos will reduce.

Two working deep sea ports will boost economic activities in that region.

Please mention what Niger Delta region stands to benefit from Lagos if it has formidable deep sea ports?

[b]Some Nigerians jumped on issues as experts with no background knowledge. Lagos Ports have served the whole nation similar to the oil , not Lagos state alone. Ask your governors, where their monthly allocations are coming from. Lagos ports generate more money equivalent to the oil. The other port in Lagos is privately funded and privately owned.

They see potentials in building such a mega port in Lagos as a hub for their West Africa Business coverage. It’s not fully owned by Nigeria Governments. In addition, no organizations would want to invest in the S/South with what happened in the last 15years of violence. The consequences of violence, kidnapping and criminality will be felt long after it stopped. Rebranding NIger Delta as a peaceful investment destination is key now with all developments going on. For example, besides the Ondo state poor negotiation with Dangote for the refinery, another concern was the crimes and kidnapping spilling from the Niger Delta that could cripple such humongous business investment.

You these ND with wrong insinuation, have you seen any SWesterners that against your wish in terms of deep sea ports, it is what we are praying for, because we want sanity to return to Lagos.

This is what you guys should have asked GEJ to do in your region as a president for solid 6yrs,what power did a VP has under the constitution to do such.
You are right. This is what the Niger Deltans should have asked GEJ to do for them but they were busy pursuing Amnesty program money and enriching only their warlords. No proper development in Delta and Bayelsa state till date.
Sometimes I wonder if we are just too stupid to see beyond our gra-gra .We are too greedy and serve centered of taking all to ourselves without thinking of how to develop our region.Pls dont mind him.

Bros how have imports and internal trades been moving on around since Lagos has been the hub of imports.

We know how the country is structured not not favor the south south and south east politically and that is why i stoped blaming Jonathan after realizing that any project must must pass through the National Assembly which senators and Reps members out umbers the south south and south east put together.

Remember i never called you names or insulted you.

Show evidence of Jonathan proposal to build deep seaport in Niger Delta that was opposed by majority NASS votes. At least newspaper will report it.

Show evidence and budget drafted by Jonathan appointed minster of finance and budget where they inserted plans in all their 5 or 6 annual budgets, for deep seaport and northern or Lagos/Western lawmakers voted for removal of the projects from the budget.

If you can't provide this evidence, cover your face in shame and stop making excuses for his failure.

What is in Lagos that is not in Calabar?

Obudu cattle ranch is not in Lagos, calabar carnival doesn't take place in Lagos. Cross River produces palm, pineapple juice etc which they can't consume, Lagos market is waiting for them, rail will help calabar deliver it cheaply to Lagos so they can compete better with imported fruit juice extract.

Numerous aluminum factories are waiting for ingots from Aluminum smelter at Ikot Abasi instead of dependence on imports. Railway will cheaply deliver polyethylene pellets cheaply to plastic factories in Lagos, Abeokuta Ibadan, that's the way to spread prosperity and wealth everywhere by linking our production and consuming areas together instead of with China via seaports.
Not that seaports are not needed, but on a scale of preference we need to make our internal trade efficient first and ready to compete with the outside world

By trucks, but Lagos needs rails for evacuation north, it's choking for need of rail freight services

Train does not mean Niger Delta does not need seaports or will never get ports forever.
The seaports and train would have been running over 20 years ago if we've had focused leadership.

This FG is interested in trains, future govts will not rebuild the trains all over again, they can build seaports.

Even state governments are promoting ports. Wake of your state govts and LGs to collaborate and finance a seaport if the need is so great and the FG is not seeing it
