It should be obvious to folks like you by now that Wike, Okowa, Amaechi, Jonathan, Udom and some other south south leaders are also interested in contesting for the president in 2023. So, it’s just disingenuous and absolutely in bad faith for you guys to keep telling the south west not to contest.

As far as we are concerned in the south west, we will not contest for the ticket of PDP because we believe the party is stronger in the south east and south south. We shall encourage all south east and south south politicians to contest for the party’s ticket.

As for APC, we believe we’ve made enough sacrifices for the party and in the overall interest of equity and fairness, we shall put up a candidate to contest for the party’s ticket against any other interested candidates from the south east and south south. That way, we can have an all southern contest in 2023.
