Military Operations: Bandits are facing serious heat in Zamfara - Commissioner

The Honourable Commissioner of information, Zamfara State, Ibrahim Dosara, said Bandits in the state are facing serious heat due to the military operation going on in the state.

Honourable Ibrahim Dosara who made this known in Kaduna today during a media chat with Journalists, said 80% of Bandits have fled the state due to the military Onslaught going on in their strongholds.

He also disclosed, that Bandits have resolve eating raw food and Okro to survive in the forest.

“One of the successes is making the bandits flee Zamfara State for fear of being killed.

“Just yesterday the Sokoto Commissioner of Security in an interview,, said 80 per cent have fled to Sokoto, with only 20 per cent in Zamfara and Katsina. Dosara said.

He further noted that “Over 2,000 informants have been arrested and are now providing vital information on how they relate with the bandits and who support them, including highly placed individuals.

Most of bandits according to him, were forced to eat raw food like millet, because they have been cut off from their collaborators in town.

“I also encountered problems with conflict entrepreneur who were sponsoring unverified and sensational reports on the insecurity situation despite that the government was firm in ensuring success.

Reacting to the comment on BBC by the ex-Governor of Sokoto State, that the government of Zamfara is not doing its best, Dosara expressed dismay, confessed that Governor Matalawale is up and doing on daily basis to ensure that normalcy returned to the state.

Fielding questions from newsmen on the area of telecommunication services that has been shut down for a while now, he explained that the government will restore network services soon, noted that the government has put up measures to cushion every effect of hardship on its citizens.
