So my question is, Why cant 'ordinary' Nigerians participate in all these competitions? Must it be the big names we already have out there?

Just normal announcement on newspapers and government website for PTDF, NDDC and TETFUND scholarships. But if you have a good result, you can get a full ride scholarship to US for PhD and Master's. Sometimes you need to write GRE. All of these infos are in the travel section of nairaland.
