We Are Facing Existential Threat, Playing Politics With It Is Senseless And Immoral.

By: Usifo Ekpo

Following the insecurity ravaging Anambra State and South East, the Media Office of Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji has reacted saying that political profiteers politicising the insecurity in the State and region is the height of desperation and called on Government to live true to its responsibilities of protecting lives and properties.

Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, Member of the Parliament and Governorship Candidate of APGA for the forthcoming November Poll made the Statement through the Media Office, in Awka, Anambra State capital were he commiserated with the Akunyili family, over the murder of Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband to Late Dorothy Akunyili, Nigeria's former minister of Information and NAFDAC Director General; Umeoji also sympathized with the family of Eze B, APGA ward Chairman in Nnewi and other victims of the inhuman attacks and gruesome killings by these faceless gunmen.

Umeoji bemoaned while expressing that the State is now facing existential threat and that Desperate politicians hoping to profit from the killings should be more concerned in the restoration of law and order rather playing ill politics to score cheap goals.

"Politicising insecurity is the height of desperation"

"The concern of every well meaning Igbo man and woman should be how to restore law and order which is fundamental to development. It is senseless and immoral for any politician to seek to score cheap political goal at this time, rather this is a time to close ranks to save this land from destruction because we are facing an existential threat. Security is the first responsibility of the government, the government should stand up and live true to its responsibilities, this is not the right time to play gutter politics".

My sincere sympathy and Condolences goes out to everyone who have lost family member and loved one in the attacks, may God comfort them as we share in pain and grief.

Umeoji should remember that Mailafia told us that the insecurity happening in most parts of the south is a planned attempt by the Fulani tribe to subdue all of you by method of brute force. They are using divide and rule tactics and killing innocent people in the east, kidnapping and raping innocent women and ladies in the west, killing off innocent people in Benue, Southern Kaduna and Plateau. The number of people they have killed and maimed in the Niger Delta are uncountable. They are using killers protected for their men in uniform and attacking every state to dominate every state. - From Obadiah Mailafia. Former CBN Deputy Governor
