As the world moves to tackle climate change, the International Oil Companies (IOCs), which insist on ramping up production of fossil fuels in Africa may face the risk of regulatory action from the United States, the country’s Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, Jonathan Pershing, has said. If the US makes good its threat, it will be a major blow to Nigeria, Angola, Congo and other oil-producing countries in Africa, which have intensified efforts to attract foreign investors to fund major hydrocarbons projects on the continent. I just decided to post this because Buhari think that oil is a relevant asset, more reason why he is coming to make sure that the north has grip in the oil sector. Oil is a very relevant asset, and America's decisions to blow Nigeria delights me immensely! If no one buys our oil from us, perhaps we might decide to utilise it ourselves. I hear illegal microrefineries are doing well in Delta, and in time they might become legal and start selling us petrol for 60kobo a litre. 2 Likes |
