But, N90,000,000 is about to be awarded to the winner of a show that has no moral value to Nigeria as a country and to us as a people.

And that's why I am asking this question,

Do Nigeria/Nigerians value education or are we just deceiving ourselves?

I'm tired of seeing of these lengthy harangued online posted with ignorance.

This is a BUSINESS, there are so many moving parts involved. You don't want to know how many people earn their living yearly on the tentacles of the program. The entire planning team, cast, cameramen, supplies, interior decor, mascots, influencers, bloggers, vloggers, & security are all feeding their family from this.

Its pure entertainment.... everything about the program is brand placement. That's why their adverts can get annoyingly much.

BBNaija is not your knowledge sounding board, it never claims to be your morality guide... It's simply entertainment. That's the beauty of entertainment.. It simply interest people for no reason. You either watch or ignore. Several brands are investing their entire marketing budget in this and are getting crazy metrics. Every year Multi choice dedicate a whole channel to live stream it...its no joke.

The Students you cited above are GIFTED the prize. Respect for educational excellence and Proliferation of entertainment shows can co-exist side-by-side in any society.

We can keep arguing back n forth on this matter.. so I'll end it here. Selah

You are just spewing rubbish and I'm sure you are one of those that will never allow this country move forward or go the right path. Good I understand the economic value of this show but the content is what we are talking about, too explicit without any moral value or worth.
I'm sure you also do complain that Nigeria lag behind in technological and educational innovations, but how do you think we can get it right if we don't motivate and prirotise education and innovative minds??

Latterly I have seen very young people trying to invent some certain type of technological gadgets in this country but due to lack of support from the government and private stakeholders thier inventions is not yielding any results. So when will Nigeria grow?

I'm sure China prirotise bbchina too. North Korea prirotise bbkorea?? Iran prirotise bbiran? It's Africans that love social lifestyle more and they are the ones moving back more. No agricultural show, no scientific show, no innovative shows, no manufacturing show, no economic shows, Nigeria only encourage the convergence of ashawo and oloshos with huge rewards.

Look at innoson who is floating this gibberish show, he never deem it fit to channel his support and energy into encouraging people who are talented in creating inventions and innovations but tommorow now he will be complaining that Federal government dont help his organization but here he is turning his back at young people doing very well in other things more valuable than bbnaija.

This same program you are maligning is amplifying the innovative works Nigerian startups are doing recently. From Flutterwave to Patricia to Abeg app... They are getting unprecedented traction based on the visibility that the show affords. This is the most watched show in the entire continent.

Entertainment is a big deal. Over the past 10 years, the only positivity emanating from this country to the global world is our entertainers. Let's milk this to the fullest. Its a crazy contagion effect.

I'm going to be frank as well as blunt. Everywhere in the world, people dish out funds for fun and pleasure. Those achievements you mentioned are seen as personal gains to the individuals whereas the BBN is more like entertainment targeted at large number of viewers to grant them satisfaction.

What we should talk about is how we can make education fun for people to look forward to. The truth is the education we are having here is a waste of time. That is the reason we can find anyone who would use educational values to shake the entertainment sector. Look at what *American got talent* is doing. Even if we replicate the same here in Nigeria, it won't sell.

Another thing is that we have gat a lot to worry about in Nigeria, and we all look towards the entertainment sector to take our mind off the worries.

Don't blame the players. Blame the game .

Excellent points. Big Brother Nigeria is really a huge waste of resources given the abundance of talents we have in academics.

I'm wondering what the best upcoming artiste is n Nigeria gets in comparison to the best graduate? How about football? Or movies? Or all these beauty pageants that Alex.reports organises? How about monetary rewards for the Balon d'Or winner? Or Album of the year? Do you have data highlighting a comparison between these and outstanding Nigerian students?

Alhaji Aliko Dangote is not the most educated man in Nigeria, yet he is the wealthiest man in Africa and he has professors employed in his group.

General Yakubu Gowon, Mohammed Buhari and the leaders in the sixties, seventies and eighties were not all universally graduates, they were youths, but the determined their destinies. As we speak, they are in the eighties and still remain political leaders.

Education is available to those who want it. Sitting down and lamenting about how certain youths have chosen the path of greatness through shows like BBN does not help people like you.

What the universities give out as prizes to their graduating students is their choice and business. Shows like BBN are informative and they in money for all concerned. Aside from those in the house, fans also win prizes and they are equally empowered.

Lastly not having proper education sometimes in life may not be too much of a handicap for some. We have wealthy people among us who are not properly educated.

The organizers of this show made too much money from the show, imagine over one billion votes ( 1,000,000,000 ) times 30 naira voting fee

But, N90,000,000 is about to be awarded to the winner of a show that has no moral value to Nigeria as a country and to us as a people.

And that's why I am asking this question,

Do Nigeria/Nigerians value education or are we just deceiving ourselves?

An idiot in Nigeria became a. Graduate to impress his village people, get paid more money and act Hollier than thou

A graduate abroad uses his education to create value that feeds others

Your close-minded nature and every day post of this hackneyed article won’t allow you see the value of BBNaija to the country. Have you seen one billion votes which put a preferred political candidate in power? How about an election which went smoothly? I know very well those haven’t happened in my lifetime and I’ve lived long enough to know it never will. BBNaija votes count; always. I’m still yet to hear someone killed a rat because their preferred housemate lost talk less of killing a fellow human being. Stealing of ballot boxes, nko?

Why am I even responding. You’ll only carry your copy and paste write-up to the next BBNaija thread. Your type is never found in the politics section or in real world protests practicing what you preach.
Men I just can't help but laugh at your astounding foolishness. To think you believe election violence happens only in Nigeria alone is the reason why you watch bbnaija.

Chai.

Stale. Voting was free for everyone this season apart from those people who purchased IUCs.
