We all know the Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka as an astounding author, poet, playwright, public affairs commentator and political activist but did you know that he recently released his first work in nearly 50 years?

Yes you read it right, 50 years!
His last released work was 48years ago.
The first African to win the Nobel prize for
literature is reported to have used the lock down to write yet another masterpiece titled "Chronicles from the Land of Happiest People on Earth" as well as a new theatrical work.

“This novel has got everything – friendship and betrayal; faith and treachery; hope and cynicism; murder, mayhem and no shortage of drama, all set against the backdrop of contemporary Nigeria,” said the publisher. “As you would expect from a Soyinka work, it’s got plenty of colourful characters, profound insights, witty commentary, and the most elegant language.”

Despite not releasing a new work since 1973, the 86 year old literary god still remains relevant.

I can't wait to lay my hands on a copy of this new masterpiece "Chronicles from the Land of Happiest People on Earth"
