Bauchi – The Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda and his deputy, Alhaji Sagir Aminu Saleh, have been sworn in for a second tenure, just as the state government has donated N20 million to the 10 families of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members who lost their lives during the post-election violence in the state.

The governor and his deputy, who were sworn-in, yesterday at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, by the Chief Judge, Justice Umaru Zango, in Bauchi, condemned the killing of innocent citizens including the corps members during the post-election violence and pledged the commitment of his administration, towards ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.

Yuguda, who expressed the government’s concern for the slain corps members’ families, also offered scholarship to two of each of their younger siblings, from secondary to the university level, in any university of their choice in the country, as well as free Hajj/ Jerusalem trip to the affected families.

He said 600 suspects who were arrested for their role in the mayhem by security agents in the state have so far been convicted.

This one makes more sense than the N5 million story if true. I think this is ok as compensation. Though i would have done more i were the governor.
