The sins of a Madman

he staggers into d church and sits on d pew
glad 2 hve made it
among d chosen few

he finds refuge
from his raging thots
his features relax
into a calm of sorts

D preacha walks in
clad in saintly dignity
regally carrying his
sanctimonius identity

D madman spots him
and breaks into laughter
gales & gales of it
shaking d rafters

D saint trembles
in righteous anger
his face a mask of fury
as he drives out d stranger

D lunatic stumbles out of paradise;his look a sad one
who will forgive d sins of a madman!

Okay, I'm feeling ya. But I still wonder if you're personifying something using the mad man.

Denex man. . . that's the beauty of the creative arts; you see different depending on where you're looking from!

@Rhapsody,

this is brilliant. . . the last two lines of 1st verse/ first two of the next conflict some to me, but the writer is best in the know. . .
it'd blow an audience away if well read - i marvel at the conciseness. . . champagne stuff!

@ruddie
Thanx man! Glad u see my vision. I intentionally made those verses contradictory just 2 heighten d contrast and emphasize d theme of irony which runs thru d poem.
@Denex
if u insist on it being an allegory,then i guess d lunatik is symbolic of d nigerian youth who seeks salvation in d govt only 2 discover d govt needs more help than he does.In anger and disillusionment,he mocks d system and gets ostracized as an outcast by d powers that be.Savvy?
