Lying

In today's world, children start to lie before or after the clock 3 years old and parents start to wonder who taught the child how to lie.

That's are different reasons why kids lie especially when they've started going to school.

They may do this because they've seen their parents or family members lie. It might also be due to peer groups i.e They want to feel among and attract attention or not attract attention. It might even be to avoid punishment or help a friend avoid punishment etc.

Some parents don't take lying by their kids serious. They think it's only normal that kids lie but you might want to think twice when the child starts getting used to lying and it becomes bad.

This habit can eventually lead to dire consequences which might be too late to undo or solve.

Solution

There are several ways of methods to handle lies and the act in itself.

What makes adults adults is the level of understanding, maturity, wisdom either from past experiences or other people's experiences.

On the other hand kids are kids because they are naïve and inexperienced. They seem to take in or interprete things based on the face value.

Therefore, It's the duties of parents or guardians to explain to their kids the meaning of lying and it's implications including it's temporary benefits and longlasting outcomes or disadvantages.

Usually, correcting a child that is just starting to do some inappropriate things is not necessarily about beating or scolding the child but of doing all that is required to get the child to understand the message you want to pass across to him or her.
Above all, o want to leave you with this quote that I learnt in Ilorin, Kwara state as a child:

Prayer changes things.
Prayer changes people and people change things.
