He stressed that it was the first time the University health centre was receiving such donation, and commended the student for her kind gestures. He further prayed the Vice-Chancellor to take note and also reference the extraordinary gestures of the student.

While speaking on the rationale behind the donation, Miss Chukwugozie who is presently on a mandatory 6 months students’ industrial work experience scheme at the Nigerian Brewery, Enugu, said that she is a humanitarian, adding that she is interested in providing solutions to the challenges confronting humanity.

She noted: “I discovered that some of the bed spreads at the medical centre were worn out, so as a biology student who knows the essence of clean environment, I felt like replacing some of them and getting some other materials that can enhance effective service delivery in the clinic.”

She maintained that as a student, AE-FUNAI has helped in widening her horizon, and also enhanced her thought process and perspective about life, statiing that her course of study (Biology) has enabled her to place a lot of premium on human life and the environment.

The gesture of the student is quite commendable taking into cognizance the present environment in the country, where most people are more interested in what they can extract from the system and many others engaged in endless armchair criticisms, complaints and fault-finding. By deciding to be a solution provider and problem solver, she has distinguished herself as an eagle and needs to be celebrated.
