As for taking on Nigeria in conceptional war I'm not keen on such an exploit. Nigeria cannot be defeated by a conventional army raised by only a section of the country. You will fight till you wear out and in the process the land is destroyed and development is taken back a few decades again.

If the general has a vast and well trained army at his command they should take an attritional approach and never conventional warfare. Steady and sustained attrition.
