I do other menial jobs to make end meets. Fortunately, I have a supportive background my father wants to give me one shot.

I have seen people talked about many things and resume opportunities in the ICT space, I just don't know where to venture into, the concept is somewhat alien to me.

I want something that can start paying me in 6 months. This will at least give me some financial freedom. Where do you think I should explore?

NB: I am not good at mathematics, drawing and I don't have a sound knowledge in Ms word and Corel drawer. Other than those shortcomings, I am a smart and an intelligent fellow looking for a livelihood.

Well, your current age does not limit your ability to become what yo want to become. First of all, you have decide which area in tech industry do you really want to specialised on. You also have to decide which programming language you're going to start learning or software application to learn. These are various area you can explore and choose from.

Website developer
Desktop developer
UI/UX designer
Data scientist
Blockchain developer
3D artist
2D artist
Artificial intelligence developer
AWS developer
Graphics designer

Let's me tell you the reality and the truth, you said you are looking for something that will start paying you in the space of 6 months. I laugh loud at you those tech skills I mentioned above can't give you that in a short rapid period of time unless you are just fooling yourself. It will take you time, dedication, patience, hard wok and seriousness before you can become good at any of them.
You have to get yourself a very good laptop at least 8GIG ram with Intel UHD 620 graphics card, 256GIG SSD or 2 GIG NVIDIA Graphics Card or AMD Radeon graphics card.
You have to spent money on data. Chaaaaaeee na here MTN won finish me patapata these days!!! Data is too expensive in Nigeria
Think about the electricity availability in your area because that's what gonna power your machine and workflows, not only workflows but also increase productivity.
If you decide to go for graphics designing, Illustration designing, Revit, Bim, AutoCAD, 2D or 3D then ready to buy a graphics drawing tablet and monthly subscription to purchase those software you're going to use for your workflows. Although few among them are free like Blender or Unreal Engine. Just depends which one you like.

Yeah, there a lot of professionals in the field and they work alongside mobile application developers. So, since you have choose UI/UX mobile or website application designing. You have to purchase Adobe XD or Figma software to begin learning the software and become a professional.

If you go into graphics design. Within months you will start to get result. But to get big gains you will need deep proper training because right now graphics design is everywhere and supply power is quite high.

But you can always learn programming or other ICT skills under ground all through the way and later migrate to it.

Honestly I feel six months is enough for anyone with seriousness to be able to get their first job. I got my first job within that time period and I have met countless of others who made it happen within the same time period.

It might be hard to believe but it's not uncommon. You just need to be very serious. Unfortunately a lot of people are not serious.

Not trying to down play your progress but I still think it’s a bit of an oversimplification especially in Nigerian context to say you were a mechanic first. You had a solid University engineering education, you were a computer literate and you were also an entrepreneur. That’s different from a 30 year old conditioned private school teacher who’s not too comfortable with basic MS Word.

Yeah all things being equal but then things aren't equal but don't give up. The most important thing is that you are progressing every single day. That's what counts the most.

Started in February with html CSS and JavaScript. JavaScript took me the most time but I was comfortable with it enough to go into react by month 5. I had already built a JavaScript project and then did a react one once I was done with JavaScript. Also had a project to show for it. Started applying to jobs as soon as I had my react project down and started learning nodejs. I discovered early on into my nodejs learning that almost all the node jobs available were for mid to seniors so I dumped it for PHP. It took me a week to learn PHP as I already knew JavaScript. I got a job a week into learning PHP and my first freelance work within this time period modifying the pages for this site using PHP and JavaScript. Realityblurb.com. I finished it and saw how powerful WordPress can be so I used the next one month to learn WordPress theme development after which I got a job in a Canadian agency but got sacked due to bad internet here. They said they can't cope with me if I am so slow on tasks. I hated using the normal PHP to do WordPress and started researching and that's when I discovered the Jamstack and knew that I can write react with PHP and I loved react like mad. Started making a project on that and it wasn't even complete before I got a job with an agency in California. Lost the job in March and got another one temporarily with another agency before the job I have with the Australian agency I am working with now. I even started learning salesforce around October November last year and got certified this July. Looking to get the admin before the year ends and Pd2. I really have no distractions and when I want to do something I move at the speed of the light but It can't be the same for everyone. The most important thing is progress whether six months or one year. The destination is the same.

Having the right resource and time is the obstacle to achieve that feat. One thing about programming is dedication and consistency. Which I think is not easy for someone trying to make ends meet and at the same time skilling up.

when I try to install some plugins it keeps writing "installation failed. There had been a critical error on this website...."

though some plugins installed perfectly but some like embedpress and woocommerce and some others shows that error
