My dreams for Nollywood, Nigeria: Actress Oluchi Nwabuzor speaks on becoming a movie legend


Sensational actress Oluchi Nwabuzor has revealed that, unlike other colleagues who are in the movie industry just for the glam, she is in for something bigger.

The actress who has featured in several movies at all levels said that the two most important things for her are to reach a great height in the industry and then make more people around the world appreciate Nollywood as a credible industry.

“I want to be the next queen of the industry, someone like Genevieve Nnaji or maybe something bigger”

“I don’t just want to be in a lot of movies; I want to be so exceptional that my name and acts will be the chorus of any job I feature in”, she said while speaking to OtownGist in a virtual interview.

The screen diva Oluchukwu Stephana Nwabuzor said that she is working so hard to make her screen name ‘Oluchi Nwabuzor’ a household name and she is looking at replicating the longevity and expertise of the veterans and legends like Joke Silva and Genevieve Nnaji respectively.

“There are some very exceptional persons I look up to in the industry and all I want to do is build with the foundation they have laid”

“The industry will keep changing with time but one thing I want to do with the work that has been done so far is to increase the level of appreciation our movies see globally. It is great to see that our movies are not getting on some global platforms, but we need more and more” she said.

The beautiful actress said that it will be a huge favour to Nigeria if she can motivate her generation to make Nollywood the next competition for Hollywood.

Oluchi Nwabuzor added that if she can achieve great things like that for Nollywood and Nigeria, she will become something more than a superstar.

“I’ll be an icon when all these are done and that's what I want”, she said.
