The different tribes in China are not exactly different like that.

They are not as different as Igbos are to Hausas or Yorubas.

The closest I can compare with is the way Yoruba has very many different subethnic groups. They are from the same stock, same central language but each has its own dialect that is mutually intelligible too.

It was a great disservice the British did to the Yorubas who should have focused on uniting the various subethnic groups instead of struggling within Nigeria with totally different ethnicities.
