Cross River State Government has called on the Muslim faithful to pray against Banditry, killings, and another Insecurity in Nigeria as Muslim Ummah celebrates the birth of holy prophet Muhammed, the Eid-El Maulud.

Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Tanimu Hassan, stated this in a statement issued to commemorate the 2021 Eid El aloud celebrations in Cross River State.

He said other states in Nigeria should emulate Cross River's effort in peace building and mutual coexistence between different people of a different faith, yet living peacefully without religious or ethnic bias.

“As we rejoice in the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed, let us be mindful of the need to pray for peace and unity among the citizens, which form the fulcrum for the progress of our dear country.


“These challenging times call for fervent prayers for Allah to intervene towards the sustenance of our cherished country as well as the enthronement of leaders that will truly meet the yearnings and aspirations of the generality of the people”, Hassan added.

The special adviser also called on Nigerians to continue to live in harmony and be tolerant of each other, irrespective of religion, tribe, or ethnic sentiments.
