[b]Cristiano Ronaldo the GOAT?
For at least the last decade now we have seen countless debates over who is the world’s greatest player, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

For a large number of people, that honour goes to Lionel Messi. But for some, they still believe Ronaldo is the greatest.

And whilst that can be debated, what probably can’t be is that Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time.

CR7 has won the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, four Champions Leagues, is the top goal-scorer in international history – even if he did score a lot of goals against poor teams. He has also won the European Championship and Nations League with Portugal and has earned an impressive five Ballon d’Ors, a total only bested by Lionel Messi at present.

Ronaldo’s status as one of world’s best questioned
So, even if you do not consider Ronaldo to be the GOAT, he has to be in the conversation, right?

Well, one man who certainly does not believe so is former player, Antonio Cassano.

The Italian, when speaking about Ronaldo recently, suggested that the current Manchester United star is not even in the top five best players of all time.

Cassano instead opted to name Lionel Messi, Pele, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff and the Brazilian Ronaldo as five players better than the Portuguese Ronaldo:

'Is Cristiano Ronaldo the best in the history of football? He is not even in the top five.

“For me, [Lionel] Messi, Pele, [Diego] Maradona, [Johan] Cruyff and Ronaldo [Nazario] are on another level.”

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I love football and it's a blessing having Ronaldo and Messi in the same generation. Don't ask me who is better, cos that's a generational argument. And The greatest footballer is not yet Born.

Ronaldo is player that is not even among the 10 players with the highest trophies in total.
Messi cancels him in EVERYTHING!; trophies in total, assists, goals, when you talk about goal ratio (it would be unfair to exclude goal ratio since obviously Ronaldo has played more matches), individual trophies and achievements (both in international and club level).

Ronaldo doesn't even cancel messi in anywhere.
You're free to list them if you believe he does

Ronaldo is a Great Goal scorer

Maybe the greatest, but then we have Puskas and Gerd Meuller

But in terms of who is the greatest player of all times

I agree with Cassano, he doesn't come close

For some Ronaldinho is the best player of all times

The only advantage Ronaldo and Messi have is their madt longetivity

But Messi has always shown he's shoulders above the rest

If Messi never scored half of all his goals...
He'll still be in the conversation
