On the eve of 20th October 2020, the Nigerian army invaded the lekki toll gates in Lekki, Lagos state, Nigeria, venue of the famous End sars protests, where thousands of young people were gathered to protest against police brutality and bad governance.

The Nigerian army shot at the protesters, according to eye witnesses and later the Army officers admitted to shooting at protesters although they have insisted that only blank bullets were used.

Eye witness reports suggests that it was a massacre as many people were killed at the scene, some horror scenes were also captured on an Instagram live video by a famous DJ.

The government were quick to deny their was a shootout and has blatantly refused to admit that anyone died at the toll gates.

Infact a former governor of lagos state told news reporters that the people that were at the toll gates at the time of the shooting were actually CRIMINALS and not innocent protesters.

The government went as far as clamping down on survivors of the shooting, including their families, threatened and froze the accounts of the organisers of the protests, went after those that were witnesses of the shooting who insisted that there was indeed an actual massacre.

Imagine a government that actually denied there was a shooting/killing on the night of 20th October 2020 immediately it was reported in the news without trying to carry out any investigations to confirm the actual situation of that night. The army immediately tagged reports of the shooting as fake news and threatened to deal with those peddling such informations.

This only points to one direction, the government knows everything that happened that night, they sanctioned the shooting and it was a direct order from the top.

I spoke with someone that was at the toll gates that night and he confirmed that the army were there and were shooting live bullets directly at the crowd after fruitlessly trying to disperse them by shooting in the air, and yes people died.

The minister of information called it a bloodless massacre, A former lagos governor said those at the toll gates were criminals, the army said no one died at the toll gate, government supporters said there was no shooting, infact someone said the Instagram live video was doctored, lol.

All this allegations and denials came out immediately there were reports of shootings and has continued ever since even before any proper investigations.

Now imagine a government that has been hell Bent on denying and distorting the facts that there was any form of shooting at the toll gates and has been consistently and aggressively trying to wipe out the #LekkiMassacre from the history books, the same government is also in the same vein asking families of victims to come out, what does that tell you, Do you think you will get justice?

The government that sent the Military to shoot at protesters are also setting up probe panels to investigate itself and you think something good will come out of it? In this Nigeria?

How many victims of police brutality before the end sars protests have been compensated? What have the panel of enquiries achieved so far.

You ask why are families of victims not coming out? They should come out and try to "embarrass " the government? To prove that Lai Muhammed is a liar? That the Army were lying that there was no massacre?....Who are you? Who are you coming out to report your dead child to? The same government that denied that there was no shooting??

You must be Delusional to be asking why families of victims are not coming out. That's a mischievous assertion and a mockery to the families of the victims.

No family is ever going to make the mistake of going out to report their pains to the same people that inflicted the pain. The same people that said they never hurt anyone because they have put everything in place to shut you down forever.

Nigeria is a crime scene where human lives are not valued and the common citizens have no say.

In conclusion, there was shooting and people died, families of victims are living in fear due to victimisation of government forces and their agents.

People died at the lekki toll gates, We all know this and we are never going to forget.
