Anambra poll: Blame Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, for heightened tension

The President, Igbo Youth For Positive Change, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has said the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, should be blamed for the heightened tension in South-East ahead of the forthcoming November 6th governorship election in Anambra State.

He said Malami aggravated the situation by a press conference after Nnamdi Kanu court outing in Abuja on October 21 where the Attorney General levelled heavy allegations on Kanu on killings in the South-East.

OBIGWE'S STATEMENT READS:

I put the blame of the current heightened tension in Southeast over IPOB new sit at home order that will commence on 5th November and end on 10th November on the door step of Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation.

It's obvious that Malami has not heard about the adage that says that 'when a child did something wrong that if you beat the child with right hand that you will use left hand to draw the child closer to console the child.

In government circle, there is what is called carrot and stick approach and it's used in resolving sensitive issues because fire brigade approach makes matters to be worst.

After Nnamdi Kanu appearance at the Federal High Court Abuja for his trial, the whole Southeast was in a jubilant mood because they saw with their two eyes that he is still alive and not dead.

What was expected from the Attorney General that is the prosecutor in Nnamdi Kanu case is for him to thread with caution and not to pour fuel on an already burning fire.

I fault the Attorney General on his latest press conference were he reeled out what he termed the findings of the Federal government committee that was set up to investigate Nnamdi Kanu activities.

Since the matter is already in Court, he should have allowed the sleeping dog to continue sleeping and keep their findings to be presented to the Court on 10th November.

Rushing to the press to release what he termed the findings of the Presidential committee is a wrong move and its as if the Attorney General intentionally did it to worsen the tensed atmosphere in Southeast.

President Buhari should call the Attorney General to order and advise him to be tactical in his approach to issues.

The people of the Southeast would have been happy if the Attorney General called a press conference to apologise to igbo's for the insult meted on His Excellency Chukwuemeka Ezeife that was sent to represent Ohanaeze ndi igbo in Nnamdi Kanu trial but was denied access to the Court.

Had it been he did this , the tensed situation in Southeast will be calming down gradually.

I see what the Attorney General did as a ploy to heighten tension in Southeast and for IPOB to react the way they did so that APC will use the opportunity of the tensed atmosphere to rig the November 6th governorship election in Anambra.

Nnamdi Kanu is already in DSS custody and his Lawyers are following up his case, so there is no need for the Attorney General to resort to media trial in his case that is subject of litigation at the Federal High Court.

As I condemned the Attorney General latest press conference, I will not fail to also condemn IPOB recent sit at home order because its not in the interest of ndi Anambra and igbo's at large.

They should not play into the hands of the Attorney General and that is why it will be good and wise for them to withdraw their latest sit at home order.

Good a thing that everybody has seen with their eyes that Nnamdi Kanu is alive, hale and hearty.

As for his case at the Federal High Court Abuja, I believe that justice will definitely prevail at last.

This guys will always look for someone to put the blame on. You guys are generally a disgrace to the well meaning citizens of this great country.

If anything happens in Anambra, IPOB should and will be held responsible.

How is Anambra your problem? The people say, No elections, we are sitting at home. How is that a problem to anyone. NO ELECTIONS IN SE until FG led by Buhari gather sense. Even SS will soon start but because we have no leader like Kanu who is bold enough to challenge this fulani oligarchy. All them Asari, Tompolo, etc are only out to fill their pocket with crumbs while fulanis drill and sell our oil.
Go and conduct elections now. If na cow go come out to vote.

IPOB should stop their senseless activities.

Their candidate suppose to be in the forefront in this governorship election.

They should stop their terrorism and join politics.
