Do you like cruising on the beach? Do you want to make your trip to beach highly adventurous? If yes, there’s nothing better than beach cruiser ride. Beach cruiser bikes aren’t made for speed but render the rider utmost comfort. Are you planning to buy a beach cruiser for yourself? Well, here are some wonderful tips to get the best deal!
The first and foremost question you will face is the speed factor. Do you want single or a multi-speed bike? The speed factor basically depends on the terrain. Single speed is best suited for long leisurely rides on terrain that are slightly rough such as sand. The cruiser bike is not made for speeding. They can be simply understood as machines meant to render utmost comfort to the riders, who do not intend to ride for a relatively longer period of time. The bike comes with a coaster brake that enables the user control the vehicle with small speeds. The bike is best suit for people who don’t want complicated things in their leisure. The vehicles are really uncomplicated and relaxing, as they mostly ship without gears. Gear free bikes also give in opportunity to female riders to make most of their leisure.

On the other hand, a multiple speed beach cruiser bike is best suited for rough terrain and for relatively longer rides. Multiple speed one comes with gears that enable it to accommodate various levels of rough surfaces. Generally, multiple speed bikes are loaded with three to seven gears. But greater number of gears will reduce flexibility. And that’s why, it’s strongly recommended to go for bikes with only three levels of gears.

If you are riding on a hilly terrain, you can switch to a low gear and enjoy high speed. In case you are on level hand, you can get higher speed by switching to the seventh gear. The switching is bit similar to switching in a car. The latest models of cruiser bikes are loaded with hand grip switchers, which empower rider to change gears without twisting the hand.

Now the big question is the material you should look for buying a cruiser bike. Cruiser bikes generally made up of steel or aluminum. Most of the riders are confused, which one to choose? Well, one should select material depending upon the place one lives in. In case you are exposed to the salt spray from a beach or you park the bike outside most of the time, then aluminum is recommended. Steel cruiser bikes, on the other hand, are relatively heavier. But the weight helps in keeping a good balance of the bike. People looking for high speed ride should choose steel bikes.

However, rims of tires could be made of steel or aluminum. Spokes made of steel are considered as stronger as compared to aluminum. However, spokes made of aluminum give greater control as compared to steel ones. Aluminum spokes are really great in brakes, especially in wet condition. Steel rims are subjected to rusting. And this is why cruiser bikes are generally made from alloy material or aluminum and sold at higher prices.
