Sultan of Sokoto Rewards Keke Rider For Returning Missing N500K To Owner In Jos (Photos)

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has rewarded a commercial tricycle rider in Jos, Plateau State, Akilu Ahmad, for returning N500,000 cash a passenger forgot in his tricycle, IgbereTV reports.

In October 14, the 40-year old commercial tricycle discovered a luggage containing N500,000 cash. He later traced the passenger and handed back his luggage.

The Emir of Wase, Sambo Haruna, presented the cash and commendation to Mr Ahmad during a ceremony held at the Board Room of Jos Central Mosque on Sunday, October 24.

The Sultan, represented by Emir Sambo said that the Keke Napep rider has exhibited the real teachings of Islam.

“People should be reminded that there is always a reward for doing good. We are proud of this young man who has brought Islam, and youth on the Plateau to positive limelight,” he said.

Emir Sambo who is also the Plateau state chapter chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) said the Sultan has directed him to find out whether it was true that the man has indeed found and returned the money.

He said having discovered that it was true, the Sultan sent equal amount of N500,000 to be given to Malam Akilu as a reward for good deed.

Also the Emir of Kanam His Royal Highness, Muhammad Babangida Mua’zu, while presenting the money, said what Malam Akilu did was worthy of emulation by all Muslims and even non Muslims alike.

The Rider, who returned ₦100,000 forgotten by a passenger, has narrated how some members of the public condemned him for returning the money to the owner.

This stealing thing is so bad that no age is exempted.There is nothing like the old ones are the one stealing while the young ones are are innocent or the young ones steal while the old ones don't. And then in the future when KARMA start biting back they start complaining not remembering that them too stole as well.
The amount of pain I feel in my heart when I hear people defending their stealing with that God forsaken excuse ''Na where pesin dey work naim him dey chop naim make them call am workchop" is unimaginable bro.
Sometimes when I think of this country,I get scared of the future that is awaiting the unborn ones.

Your submission just took my mind back to last year. Started a poultry business after lockdown wahala with about 1000 birds, 700 layers & 300 broilers. Also tried some Turkeys for the first time, 15 of them. Wife was supposed to run the farm but she was pregnant so we employed someone to watch the farm under her supervision. Farm had room with bath and toilet for the worker and a brooding room which he used as extra accommodation as I wasn't into brooding. When birds began laying, this guy negotiated supply deal with a woman who sold noodles&chips across the road. He would wake in the night and pick eggs laid after wife left in the evening then supply to the woman's shop. We were practically sharing proceeds like 70:30 and the maniac was still collecting salary of 25k per month. Feed was just finishing and eggs proceeds were not measuring up until a neighbor caught and reported him. I involved the police and both were arrested but the buyer opted for personal settlement and she refunded what we could establish. I lost alot and had to scale down the business until wife is strong enough to run it on her own. Presently do only layers of 200max. I cant sink funds to share with any thief again. People have been coming to ask for the job but I always tell them no money even though the truth is I cant trust anyone again. I've been stung once and it's enough.
