SisterFire: You guys can never leave sentiments and emotions at the door. What exactly made Jonathan "innocent" back then? Why should Yorubas, given the prevailing conditions in 2013-2014, automatically support the misruling GEJ and not a Fulani we believed would lead Nigeria better and be politically more fair to us? In a democracy, interest groups are allowed to lobby legitimately and legally for their own specific interest. That is why, even in the West, lobbyists and pressure groups have influence. The sooner you people stop seeing politics through clannish and hateful lenses, to understand it is about permanent interest, the better for you. That way you will hopefully stop boring us about "betraying" a fellow Southerner in the form of the unworthy and unprincipled misruler called GEJ. In any case, and showing you lot are are a political lost cause, same Jonathan you continue to fight for, because of hate of others, has long moved on to now be fraternizing with the APC in pursuit of his permanent interest and does not give a toos about you Igbos or what you want today !!!!! To boot, Jonathan, while President, was especially bad to the Yorubas who voted for him to win in 2011 to the extent we were 100% justified feeling we owed him nothing and must do all to remove him so that our own interest can be better served. How you people cannot understand the simple logic of what played out, and must always see "backstabbing",shows you are inherently unreasonable and hateful beyond redemption . 1 Like |

mrvitalis: Like I said much earlier, the APC govt in the centre has performed woefully and those two men you mentioned would have been good materials from the East but unfortunately they failed as governors. Secondly, IPOB is doing more harm than good to our region by telling people to boycott elections. So who will vote for an igbo candidate in the SE when they declare sit at home on Election Day. That is the issue. |

Ttalk:GET OUT OF YOUR FEELINGS AND USE YOUR LOGIC. JONQTHAN WPN THAT ELECTION BECAUSE HE WAS INCUMBENT.. AND THE WHOLE SOUTH PLUS MIDDLE BELT THREQ THEIR WEIGHT BEHIND HIM. BUT IF THE WEST DECLARES VS EAST...THE SOUTH IS DIVIDED AND THE WEST WOULD FIELD A NORTHERN VP. THE EAST CANT WIN AM ELECTION HONESTLY WHILE HAVING ANOTHER SOUTHERN REGION DIGIDING THE VOTES COS NORTH WEST AND NORTH EAST WILL ALWAYS VOTE THEIR OWN. PDP MOST LIKELY MAY ZONE TO THE NORTH TO UNSEAT APC... KNOWING APC WILL GIVE PRESIDENCY TO WEST. IF THIS HAPPENS THEN NORTH WILL SIMPLY RULE 16 YEARS. SO THE BALL IS IN YORUNA PPLS COURT. RMBA HOW WE WARNED YOU ALL ABOUT BUHARI AND YOU GUYS RAN BLINDLY AND GREEDILY TO SPITE THE EAST.... THE SAME QILL HAPPEN AGIAN. |

mrvitalis:oga stop blaming someone else for your failure . SW is building political Bridges and peaceful coefficient with other region while SE or SS busying with hatred ,insults ,unrest ,Terrorist and division .you can't reap where you don't sowed ,face your Biafra and Terrorist .North has the political power and they can't give it to whom they don't Trust. It is better to give power to slaves than to give it to strangers . |

mrvitalis: It's amusing seeing people who are not members of any political party, who don't attend the meetings, rallies, Congress or primaries and some who don't even have voters card insisting on dictating how a political party should chose it's flag bearer. People that think like you need to come together, register with a political party and try to effect the changes you want as members and stakeholders of the party. It's very difficult for arm-chairs critics and emergency analysts who only play their politics on social media to effect changes from outside. |

Ttalk: Somehow they seems to be convinced that they can not win presidential election. Their next best strategy is to work for and pray for a Northerner candidate that will chose one of them as vice-presidential candidate not that they really like the North. Nothing is really bad in this strategy since politics is all about interests and self preservation. However they should stop calling others that have used similar strategies greedy or other unprintable names. All these their postures will change if Atiku fails to pick Peter Obi or any S/East politician as his running mate. By then the shouts of Biafra will be very loud. |

revolt: You are very naive to think that every voter is voting for a candidate just because of regional sentiments. And by the way, how many States constitute your nebulous term 'the North' and who told you that everybody in this North is voting for a Fulani candidate to succeed a Fulani candidate to make 16 unbroken years of Fulani rule? |

mrvitalis: Look at the registered and the actual votes from the S/East in 2015 and 2019. They showed that the S/East have the least voting strength. Campaigning for no referendum,no election in the S/East will further reduce their voting strength and dwindle their capacity for political negotiations. Gradually the S-south is taking over the position of the S-East in the political equation of Nigeria. |

humilitypays: You need to overcome your problems , difficulties and challenges. Successful people over their problems, not that they don't have problems. The inability of the Igbo candidates to win is NOT caused by the Yorubas or any other tribe. The Igbo candidates just need to look inward and find ways to overcome this problem. However you can't win if you aren't contesting on the platform of the major political parties. Igbo candidates need to get over the tag of the civil war and win. I hope for such a day. |

Vistra40: No political party willingly set itself up to be easily defeated. In as much as i understand the feelings of alienation of the Igbos (especially since 2015) in the political heirrachy of the country and I condemn it, the APC will be plotting it's own defeat if they hand over their presidential ticket to S/east in 2023. Such a move will require imposition of an unpopular Dave Umahi or Okorocha on the party and it may cause too many cracks in the party that will make it easier for the PDP to defeat it. |

mrvitalis: But OBJ contested the presidential primaries and defeated Alex Ekwueme, Jim Nwobodo, Alabo Graham-Douglas, Don Etiebet and Philip Asiodu. They have NEVER been any presidential primaries in which only politicians from one tribe participate. If Gov Dave Umahi or Okorocha contest for the APC presidential primaries and defeat other aspirants, they every party member will rally round them. But you are suggesting that the APC should just call Dave Umahi who just joined the party and say take the 'presidential ticket' |
Re: EXCLUSIVE: APC Concedes 2023 Presidential Ticket To South by oyatz(m): 11:12pm On Oct 27, 2021 |
revolt: Of course, they were better after the election. The S/West leaders in the APC sold the party to their electorates on the premisses that it will deliver certain issues garmane to the interests of the zone and they got substantial parts of it. The Jonathan/PDP had no signature project in the S/West at a time that the country made Billions of Petro-dollars. The busiest road in Nigeria, the Lagos-Ibadan Express, Ibada-Oyo-Ogbomosho, Oshodi-Apapa road, Lagos-Abeokuta road were in deplorable conditions under the Jonathan/PDP administration. The APC promised to attend to these issues and also re-construct the Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan-Oshogbo-ilorin standard guage railways. Apart from appointments of few office holders into juicy positions, the Jonathan/PDP didn't even do much for the S/East. PDP members and their sympathizers will support Atiku. APC members/supporters will support APC/Tinubu or Osinbajo INEC should declare those who have the majority. QED |

Re: EXCLUSIVE: APC Concedes 2023 Presidential Ticket To South by oyatz(m): 11:32pm On Oct 27, 2021 |
SisterFire: In a presidential election, most people vote for a candidate because of certain interests and these interests varies from one voters to another. For ordinary citizen like you, who don't benefit anything from Government, your interest may be limited to seeing your tribal man in Aso-Rock or prevent a candidate you think worked against your tribal man in the past. For many other voters, their Interests may be far more than this tribal sentiments. For instance, some people will vote for APC because they are beneficiaries of N-POWER or because they think that the chances of their town's man becoming a Governor on the platform of APC is brighter if APC win the presidential election. |

oyatz:lol ... i rmba gej dualised the ibadan lagos Otta road for a start (since we are talking roads as achievements)The so called railway projects you named were a CONTINUATION and had already been awarded by Gej. The massive expansion of MM1 etc to mention a few. Look you can tell this to non political savy people. I still remember history. Now the gej govt wasn't the best but collectively the economy was far better and atleast there was some progress for the common man. Any person still justifying buharis govt isn't worth arguing with. That's delusion at its peak with all the nepotism and retrogression he's brought us....... it may take another 20years to fix. |
