AntiBMC: Your govt says he is a bandit not a terrorist. So he isnt fighting for his god to reign Supreme in the whole of Nigeria. Which means he did not die for the virgins. He died a thief. That is according to your FG. He gets none in heaven. He did not die the 72 virgin death. |

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sin be as Scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ISAIAH 1:18. Jesus is calling you today, He is ready to forgive you and make you a son not a slave, come to Him today and enjoy the fullness of His Glory, tomorrow might be too late. |

27Pushing30: I think you are right. However, it is so very easy for these class of Berbers from Niger Republic (Tauregs) cross into Nigeria so easily. In the mid 1980s (those long gone innocent years) we even allowed two Taureg Berbers stay in our Boys Quarters free of charge in Rayfield, Jos--which is something that can never happen these days. As a kid I used to go and talk to them. They spoke a broken English, were more fluent in French--but most of them clearly understand Hausa. This close affinity with the Hausa based on religion and language makes crossing the border and assuming a Nigerian identity seems like a walk in the park. Anyways, in pre-colonial times, there were no borders and these same Tauregs were also the long voyage haulers and middle men of the Trans-Saharan slave route. This means that the Tauregs would rely on the Hausas and the Fulanis to raid other minor pagan tribes around their areas and then sell them off to North African and Middle Eastern markets. Some of the affected Nupe and Gbagyi tribes who were freed by Lugard's intervention might attest that, that must have been one positive outcome of Lugard's Northern adventures back then: Disrupt the Trans-Saharan trafficking of dark-skinned humans at the time. My observation is that even within these Islamic cultures there must be some type of subtle existing "cast" system going on: with a strict and fixed immovability for certain skin tones who are assigned specific strict roles for life-which shows in their trades etc., And this is also why it was also easy for the Fulanis to dominate the Hausa Kingdoms too. We also see this today in how easy it is for both the Tauregs and Fulanis drunk from the past delusions of historical entitlements--to -easily pick out the poor villages of other fellow Hausa Muslims to raid, tax and pillage despite sharing the same "faith". Since there is no real money now in being a Trans-Saharan mule for kidnapped bodies--there is more money kidnapping and demanding for ransom from the similarly deluded and relatively wealthy Nigerian governments (compared to Niger Republic or Mali that is). Pretty messed up system they have inherited from their history, religion and cultures. 4 Likes 1 Share |
