How can you explain Obasanjo’s ability to throw money around in less than 5 months after his release from prison when Stella his wife had to sell kerosene to survive while he was in prison?

And hey, the G-18 and later G-35 were a political pressure group since the time of Abacha which was when Obasanjo was in prison. It was after General Abubakar gave a date for return to democracy that they registered as a political party.

Isn’t it obvious to you that Obasanjo was clearly a stranger to the fold?

The same backward idea that you must first acquire stupendous wealth before you can run for president. How much money did Yaradua deploy to become president? Or Buhari in 2015?

That's why you chase money and ignore bridge building, now that you need network you're running from pillar to post.

Having people is more important than money.

And you think the people who threw money around obasanjo, Buhari, Yardua, even Jonathan because of what?

Why are ibos not having people across the country clamouring and putting down resources to make one of you president?

When you are able to answer that question that's the first step in your integration and liberation

Precisely. No one can back an ambition that is a pure waste of time and money because the outcome is so predictable.

No Igbo Presidential candidate can defeat any other Nigerian wherever he or she may be from. That is how distrusted, by the generality of Nigerians, Igbos are.

No Igbo candidate can appeal to the Nigerian electorate currently above other candidates. Not possible.

If any main Party fields an Igbo, the other main Party simple has to run with any non-Igbo to be assured of a landslide win.

Uncomfortable truth for the average Igbo, who is a sentimental creature, but even Igbo leaders show that they accept this reality with their disinterest in wasting time and resources to mount a robust challenge even as Igbos on the street continue to insist 2023 is the turn of Igbos.

Why is the effort of Igbo leaders not matching the "Igbo President in 2023 or Nigeria breaks" street and Nairaland noise of ordinary Igbos?

Igbo leaders know the truth they dare not tell their violent and sentimental people who will surely come for them, their business and their family if they did.

But Obasanjo and his kinsmen were not abusing and threatening every other part of the country with ridiculous and absurd behaviours towards their fellow Yorubas who have different religious beliefs!
Love everyone and STOP the HATE !!!

Indeed. Igbo leaders, from their actions and inactions, appear to have accepted they are unelectable.

Not so ordinary Igbo who insist on blaming and attacking the Yorubas for the fact that no Party can gamble on an Igbo candidate because Nigerians will not vote Igbo above any other.

Rather than address the hating that has made them so unpopular and so unwanted, as leaders to others, they prefer taking out their frustration on their usual scapegoats. The Yorubas.

Igbos can never and will never learn so far as they are unable to stop hating, fighting, blackmailing, dividing and insulting other Nigerians.

What exactly is your bone of contention? Is it the source of the money Obasanjo spent or that he participated in a presidential primaries?

How is it wrong to say that the ticket was handed to him when the ex generals and the military at large arm twisted everyone else to clear the road for Obasanjo.

I wonder why you people always choose to play the ostrich rather than admit and face a glaring fact?
The generals were not the only players in the PDP. Ekueme had strong support as well. Igbos have to accept a simple fact, the presidency will NEVER be handed to them on a plate. Their candidates need to work like everyone else, and build the required alliances across the country.
