As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) the Tinubu Support Group(TSG)and Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society(AWCS) on Sunday launched Operation Feed the Less previleged, a programme designed to cater for no fewer than 5000 families in Abuja and environs.

The two sister groups said the gesture is to cushion the economic effects of COVID-19 and to give back to the society.

Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society is a support group affiliated to Tinubu Support Group (TSG), a leading group calling on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for Nigeria's Presidency in 2023.

The President of AWSC, Chief. Mrs Toyin Badmus speaking at the palace of Ona of Abaji who doubles as the Chairman council of Chiefs,FCT, HRH. Adamu Baba Yunusa, said "We are here to pay homage to our royal Father, the Ona of Abaji, and as well to synergize support for our Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as well as to distribute food items to about 450 women in Abaji."

"We are supporting Asiwaju Tinubu because he's not a leader that uses people and dumps them. He rewards his followers and that's why we have so many people calling on him today to contest.

" We have traveled abroad and have seen how things are carried out there, just as it is done there we are looking forward to replicate that by creating food banks in all the 774 Local Governments of Nigeria where the less previleged can go and collect food whenever they don't have what to feed their family with."

Reacting on behalf of the Ona of Abaji, the Madaki of Abaji, Alhaji Ibrahim Agoi said the group has done well by taking a bold step towards the alleviation of poverty in the country and equally commend the group for starting the scheme from Abaji.

According to him, "You have done the right thing by honouring the Ona of Abaji first.

"Whoever comes for blessings get blessings from us, It is good you have come here for blessings. We are happy you recognize here and we will bless you.
"We appreciate you and we will continue to bless you and support you".

Addressing beneficiaries at the event held at the Abaji Local government Secretariat FCT, Toyin said that her group is focused- driven and would continue to push forward ideas that would always be of interest to Nigerian women.

"Our mandate as a group is to create food banks across the Federation, and as well make business loans available for our women to afford them better business opportunities.

"We are talking about soft loans, that women in general would be able to afford, without minding their economic or social class.

"This we believe we will achieve when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the President of Nigeria in 2023.

"Asiwaju's mother was the leader of market women in Lagos state before her demise, this is why our leader does not joke with any issue that concerns women. That is why we are championing this campaign for our leader and we know when he gets into office, he will do the needful".

One of the beneficiaries of the feeding initiative, Hajia Zainab Muhammad, in her word said " We are grateful for this great gesture. This food will go along way for my family, May Allah bless Tinubu and we pray Allah will use him to change this country for good", she concluded.
