That proverb is wrong. The right proverb goes "When two elephants FIGHT, it is the grass that suffers."

And for your information, animals don't make love. They MATE for the sole purpose of procreation.

Benin has been violating every protocol for many years now. Benin is amongst the 10 largest importers of rice, yet it's population does have that capacity to consume that quantity. The target? Nigeria. It has been coordinating economic sabotage of the Nigerian economy. That you hate PMB does not mean you should apply common sense when assessing issues especially when it has to do with your country's interest. Whatever game they are playing, they will eventually loose.

It is sad many smugglers who are unpatriotic continue to carry their campaign of calumny against Nigeria. We must prosecute all criminals ruthlessly. The greed in the heart of a criminal in this country is capable of cannibalising its own family to satisfy such appetite.

I can tell you for free that 90% of the goods (rice included) that imported through the Beninois ports are made by Nigerians since it's cheaper for them to do business from there. Your government frustrates every legit business

Do you know that a bag of rice that sells for 30k now in Nigeria is less than 7k in Niger republic?
Imagine the profit they'll make by smuggling re-bagged rice from Niger Republic to Nigeria.. we're talking millions here yet there is no searchlight on the Nigeria-Niger republic border.

We can't keep deceiving ourselves and expect things to get better.. whatever is applicable to Benin Republic should also be applicable to Niger republic.

Don't mind him

Na Buhari Media Boy.

Watch how he disappear and won't be able to find any coherent response for this

Lol what will benin Republic do when Nigeria retaliates again.

Lol can the zoo afford to do so? Guy, Zimbabwean dollars is stronger than Naira.

The Zoo called Nigeria is finished and the gworo eating cow from Daura sealed it.

7k not possible, a bag of 50kg rice in Thailand, one of largest exporter of rice is over 20k, how can Niger that buys from them have it at 7k equivalent?

You are just making Nigerians long for non existent price relief.

The problem with Buhari regime is that they don't know to communicate business policies, that was why few months to him resuming office, there was massive capital flight which put pressure on our small forex reserve, amongst other factors.

I was part of the people who crossed the border 2019 when we found out that there was going to be a "2 months border closure" and that the border was going to be closed because of the increase in smuggling activites of drugs like Tramadol. A lot of people who trade around the border were awaiting for the re-opening of the border only for them to say turn around after 2 weeks and say border was going to be restricted for the export and import of certain goods and there was panic in the market.

Back in Uni, we all studied something called "Backward integration" if you want to produce something locally which you import, you need to do your research and make investment that will not only allow you to produce cheaply but also at a comparative advantage. We all know rice import is costing Nigeria a lot of $$$ and we need to engage communicate with Nigerian farmers on how we can 2x our local output and also invest in value chain that can guarantee economics on scale in that regard. But what did Buhari's regime do "Ban, outlaw, cancel, nullify".

One thing Nigerian market dosen't like is uncertainity and panic that will put more pressure on inflation and the middle class.

Toh! It's tit for tat season. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. What Nigerian government did by closing border in the South is very wrong. Yet, borders are wide open in the Northern part of the country and herdsmen are roaming into the country from Chad, Niger and God knows where else. Now. our West African neighbors are retaliating. Can you blame them?

What are they retaliating for ? Closing the border or leaving the northern borders open.

Imagine someone preferring to route goods through another country than his own...make the Nigerian ports clearing seamless, stop the corruption and stop blaming Benin. The real saboteur is Nigerian Government.
