Oluwo begins thanksgiving: Traditionalists Threaten To March On Iwo. by adenigga(m): 4:36am On Nov 10, 2021 |
The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, on Tuesday celebrated the maiden edition of “God Festival,” and explained that he decided to hold the event in recognition of the Supreme being as the only one that should be worshipped. The celebration, which was held inside Oluwo’s palace, brought together people of different faiths from within and outside the state. Akanbi told journalists during the event that as a king, he is not a slave to deities and that since he is representing God, he organised the festival to honour the “Supreme King.” “I choose today to celebrate God. I give thanks to Him. There is no prayer today. All we do today is thanksgiving. I have told people not to ask for anything, the day is for thanksgiving. It is an innovation and this is the maiden edition,” Oluwo said. Meanwhile, traditional worshippers have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government to call Akanbi to order and ensure that the monarch makes public apology over his unguarded statements against traditionalists in the state. The leader of the traditional worshippers, Dr Oluseyi Atanda, told journalists that if Akanbi and the state government failed to act within the period, traditionalists would embark on a protest march in Iwo and demand the monarch’s removal. Atanda, who said if Oluwo was tired of being a monarch, he should remove his crown and leave the palace, also appealed to government to always scrutinise anybody that would be installed as monarch in a bid to ensure peace. He said, “We therefore request the state government to call Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi to order and within 21 days, issue a public statement apologising for his unguarded utterances against Orisa and desist from such acts capable of inciting religious crisis. “If he is uncomfortable wearing the crown of Orisa, he should leave the palace of Orisa. Otherwise, in 21 days’ time, November 30, 2021, we would stage a one million worshippers march into Iwo land to protest and ask that Oluwo be removed.” Source: https://punchng.com/Traditionalists-threaten-to-march-on-Iwo-Oluwo-begins-thanksgiving

He should go to Israel and become a Jewish king. In Yoruba culture we do not recognize the murderous maniac, Yahweh or the fake messiah, Jesus. 1 Like |
