This site is ready for roofing. We were here to measure the house and estimate, with the help of experienced workmen, the number of woods needed to do the roofing of this house. Some pictures.

The carpenter I brought to this site to give me wood estimate for the next stage of the work gave his breakdown as follows;

3x4x12 = 50 (wall plate)
2x4x18 = 170(rafter)
2x3x12 = 150(poline)
2x2x12 = 100(ceiling noggings)
1x10x12 (facial boards) = 40
metal rope = 6 bundles
4'' nail = 2 bags
3'' nail = 2 bags

workmanship = N200,000


forest wood for (scaffolding) = 150
4'' nail for scaffolding 1 bag
workmanship for scaffolding = 50,000





I believe most of his material quantities are in order, I even think some are understated especially the 2x3x12 and 2x2x12 wood, his workmanship is completely outrageous. 250k for roofing this house (woodwork only as the aluminium company handles and charges for the aluminium installation. We shall ask around for a cheaper quote.

An experienced carpenter later agreed to do this work for N150k, he seems to know his stuff and will commence work in this site anytime soon, in fact, as soon as he is provided with materials. More pictures when the work has reached appreciable level.
