How many glasses can be served per bottle of champagne? It depends on the size of bottle and how you pour the champagne into the glasses.

The most common bottle size is 750ml, that generally will give 6 flute glasses of champagne if you pour 3/4 of glass, 1000ml bottle will fill 8 flute glasses.

If you pour 1/3 of glass, 750ml bottle may serve 12 – 14 glasses, 1000ml bottle may serves 16 – 18 glasses.

It is not wise to pour full glass of champagne, as it will easily split and not easy to carry around.

How many bottles of champagne should be purchased for your wedding buffet menu? It depends on the number of guests invited and how generous you are.

Each guest should at least allow one glass of champagne. If you would like the guests to mingle for longer time in the party, you may prepare 2 glasses for each guest. One bottles of champagne averagely can serve about 6 glasses. If you are going to invite 150 guests and each guest is allocated for one glass only, then you may need to get 25 bottles of champagne and remember to prepare extra 5 to 10% for backup purposes.

Champagne should be stored in a cool place and avoid directly sun light. It should be chilled but not iced, so don’t put in freezer. In order to cool it down, just put them in a bucket of ice or chiller.

To open the bottle, release the wire cage without removing it, hold the cork and rotating the bottle at an angle slowly to reduce the risk of wasting the champagne that spray out fast.

Normally the hotels, restaurants or wedding buffet caters do provide champagnes but may charge higher price for their menu than outside. If you want to save costs, you may need to purchase your own champagnes outside and bring to the venue where wedding buffet to be served, check if there is any corkage to be pay.

If the corkage is big in such a way that it is not worth to purchase your own, you may need to include their champagnes in the wedding buffet menu. If your favourite champagnes are not available in their list, you may ask them to get for you somewhere else.

Make sure you taste it first or buy one bottle for own consumption before you decide to do a bulk purchase for your big day. Vintage champagne will be more expensive than non-vintage champagne. You may specially buy few bottles of vintage champagnes for some VIPs including two of you.
