There are several Ebira people both home and in the diaspora that often reached me through emails and calls about writing articles that talks about ebira words and meaning in the English language, There are several words in Ebira language which ebira sons and daughter often find it hard to know the meaning not to talk of using them in a statement. in this article, I will be writing about top most common 100 ebira words and their meaning in the English language. This– Ònooni/Osooni These- Esse, Esseni, Eneni. That – òònò. Joy – Iraje, Ayi’ohine. Here – Izeni/Izenani. There -Izoso/Izoo. Where – ìzòvi. And – Oniri, Also – bere But – ààmaá. Why – sèvè. While – Amekwo ana, or Amekwo ehhu. What – Sonovi/sovi? Patient – Oyishenwu do.. Peace – èngwòrò. Unity – èvàbè. Because -Aguvika, Aguvavo, uvavo. When – ìhìovì. Fasting – àwè. Those -Esse. We/Us -Eyyi. Heaven -Eku’oiza, He’ll -Eku’ira. Quran -Aru’Qurani; Bible -Ivevuru, Minute -Ojeyi. Holy – ònìnì. No – Hèyìyè. Learn – òyìkòsè. Faith – èdòwù. Labour- Ukoro-ochengwu. Thinking – àrìrò.
