DESIGN & SCREEN
The design of the OnePlus 7 is very similar to that of the OnePlus 6T, but looking closely, we can notice a few small differences between the two devices.
There is a notch at the top of the OnePlus 7 that houses the front camera. That might seem a bit outdated, especially considering that the Pro model did not have one and opted for a pop-up front camera instead.
The fingerprint reader is built into the display, it generally works well, but doesn't seem as accurate or fast as that of devices like the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10. The sensor is larger than on the OnePlus 6T, so you should be able to find it more easily with your thumb, although it doesn't always work perfectly.
The back of the device is almost entirely smooth, only the central camera module interrupts the shiny glass body.

There's a slider on the right side of the OnePlus 7, just above the power button (which juggles between Silent, Vibrate, and Ring modes), a feature of OnePlus phones that many love. This device does not have an IP certification, so I would not recommend that you take it with you by the pool or use it in the bathroom.
The smartphone is available in one color in Western markets, the Mirror Gray. In India and China, you can also buy your smartphone in red, but for the moment nothing is planned in our regions.

For those looking for a smartphone with all the possible functions, it is good to remember that the OnePlus 7 does not have IP certification, a slot for a microSD, or a jack and is not compatible with wireless charging.

PERFORMANCE
The OnePlus 7 is a very powerful device, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. In short, a guarantee of quality.
You can choose between the 6 GB or 8 GB RAM model but you are unlikely to notice the difference between the two during daily use.
Apps load quickly and you can easily switch between apps without any signs of slowing down.
If you like to play intense games like Fortnite or PUBG from your smartphone with the graphics settings set to maximum, the 8GB model will be a better choice, although the 6GB one would do handily.

Gamers will appreciate Gaming Mode, which allows them to lock screen brightness level, choose whether they want to see notifications, and improve overall display performance.
And to take it a step further, there's the Fnatic Mode, which blocks notifications and calls, reduces background activity to focus energy on gaming, and disables the second SIM card (if you have one) to improve. network connection and reduce latency.
The OnePlus 7 has a 3700mAh battery, the same capacity as the OnePlus 6T.
The battery life is satisfactory, during the test days I usually started using the smartphone around 7 a.m., watched videos for a few hours and spent two more hours playing, then sending a lot of messages and emails, surfing social media, using the camera and I was surfing the internet for the rest of the day. Result: At the end of the day, I had about 20% battery left.

The battery is compatible with fast charging through the USB-C port, so you can quickly charge your device when you're in a rush.
CAMERA
Another improvement of the Oneplus 7 over the 6T is in the cameras. There are still two rear cameras, but of higher quality.
The main sensor is now a Sony IMX586 48 MP and f / 1.7 sensor, while the other is a 5 MP and f / 2.4 depth sensor, used in portrait mode and 2x zoom.
Outdoors and in good light, the camera performs well, with good color and contrast. Inside, the quality is slightly lower, but the results are still decent.
The app is clean and simple, with few options visible by default.
There are four modes to choose from: Photo, Portrait, Night Scenery, and Video. By scrolling up, you can open a larger menu, with plenty of options such as pro mode and slow motion mode for videos.
Scroll sideways to switch from standard mode to portrait mode, the smartphone does a great job of blurring the background behind the captured subject.
The 16 MP and f / 2.0 front camera allows you to capture a good quality selfie. It is possible to apply the beauty mode, which fortunately is not active by default, as well as the portrait mode.
IN CONCLUSION
OnePlus
The OnePlus 7 is a reliable and budget-friendly premium product, but if you're looking for a device with all of the features that characterize the new flagships of 2019, you won't find them here. It is a very powerful smartphone, equipped with a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, but very similar to the previous model.
