Actor and politician, Desmond Elliot, has reacted to the findings in the report of the Lagos state inquiry into the October 20, 2020 shooting incident at the Lekki tollgate.


The panel in its report indicted the Nigerian Army and police and described the incident as a massacre. The report also gave the names of nine persons killed during the incident as well as the names of those who were injured during the attack.


Speaking on TVC this morning November 16, Desmond Elliot said the report was heartwrenching and that he knew that a calamity happened on the said day.

Lemme deviate from the norm of attacking the government and give them some credit. Hon. Desmond Elliot is right.

I like that Lagos State is being transparent about this issue. There are other states where the president instructed the state governors to set up similar panels and nobody heard anything about them. I read in a state where certain people were invited by the panel and they refused to show up. Nothing happened.

Transparency and accountability are important to governance. Nigeria's democracy is growing. After now, we need to beam our searchlight on the national assembly because those idiots contribute immensely to our problem.
