In the midst of this global conversation and discernment by the members of the Society of Jesus, an ongoing initiative by the Jesuits to establish a new school in the South East of Nigeria was generously taken up and brought to life by Dr. Ernest Nnaemeka Azudialu-Obiejesi. Gonzaga Jesuit College, Okija, Anambra State, is the result of the magnanimous benefaction of Dr. Ernest & Barr. Mrs. Nnenna Azudialu-Obiejesi. This act of generosity was done for the good of humanity and for the greater glory of God. The journey began when the Jesuit team, accompanied by Engr. Paul Erinne and Dr. Ifeanyi Uchendu approached Dr. Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi with the proposal regarding the establishment of a Jesuit school in Okija.
Dr. Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi accepted the proposal and offered to build the entire school for the Jesuits. The Jesuit Superior General Fr. Arturo Sosa Abascal S.J., was glad to give his permission and for construction to begin in earnest.
Thus Gonzaga Jesuit College Okija was born

A month after its resumption, Gonzaga Jesuit College Okija celebrated its first Mass of the Holy Spirit on the 31st day of October. Like every other Jesuit school, the school community, together with parents and Jesuits and the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus, committed the academic year into God’s providence by invoking the Holy Spirit.

During his Homily, the provincial Fr. Chukwuyenum Afiawari, SJ expressed his satisfaction with the school’s progress in its one month of opening. He also expressed his gratitude to the benefactor of the school and the many collaborators.

After the post-communion prayer, the students were inducted into the school. The induction ceremony was led by the principal, Rev. Fr. Joe-Stannis Okoye, SJ.

to be an Igbo person is not to be a black man, the only rejoin without government doing anything for them yet they do all things for themselves even better than what government can do, but in other tribes everything they have is built and provided by government, Igbo's are spetial kind of black race
