The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, and his deputy, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha, on Wednesday apologised to the Peoples Democratic Party for violating its directive on zoning formula.

Tambuwal, who arrived at the PDP headquarters in Abuja at 2pm in company with Ihedioha, met with the party’s National Working Committee members for more than one hour.

The NWC members at the meeting included the National Chairman, Dr. Haliru Mohammed; the National Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje; the National Organising Secretary, Chief Uche Secondus; and the National Legal Adviser, Chief Olusola Oke.

Is an apology really necessary. Our democracy is now threading on dangerous grounds, when PDP feel they can hold everyone hostage. This is bad

Hmm hmmm,why do you ask,don't you know the guys avery tight corner already?

It's one thing to play to the gallery and pull cowboy stunts in disobedience of the instruction of their party
They know they can only be as influential and effective only as much as their party/presidency allows them to be.What would you suggest to them,decampmentI know that was a no-brainer

Again,have you forgotten that this same Tambuwal is involved neck deep in Dimejigate??the party/presidency can actually make him lose that speaker's post,make him guest of the EFCC by making sure he contends with the anti graft agencies for hiod role in the sleaze in the last assembly.The man knows he has enough banana peels in his path(mostly put by himself),I assure you in just a few months,if the party means to send out a warning and pass a message,Tambuwal will lose that position and I trust our lawmakers,so many of them will then begin to form all manner of groups calling for his ouster and sponsoring their own candidates to replace Tambuwal

@Rasputinn,

I am not suggesting such, but where is the transparency and fairness to all, or is the speaker only going to be a speaker for the PDP party and no one else. . This public show is really not good for our democracy. Nigeria is really being held @ gun-point

C'mon loosen up,nobody is holding anybody at gun point,it's normal politics;they were elected on the platform of puhe party.The first law of politics is that the party/congress is supreme,so to have openly violated a direct instruction from their party(an instruction which by the way was in perfect order),they surely must serve some form of punishment/sanction

@Rasputinn,

Quick question, why did the parties preferred choices not win? Should PDP not be providing answers to that? were these guys not legitimately and freely selected?

could it be the executive trying to interfere with the legislature? where then is the separation of powers?

loooooool, ACN is begining to look very ridiculous. I thought this was championing the removal of influences of PDP. Which by the way pay the piper and dictate the tune. So they will rather serve under PDP and become boy boy to PDP on the national stage. what a shame. O ma se. grin cheesy
